Vitamin D and Diabetes

Not really bodybuilding related, but definitely diet and health related.

I was reading an article on the BBC News website about diabetes being increased in persons who were deficient/had lower levels of vitamin D (primarily kids). This explains why those who live where sunlight is less each day have higher rates of diabetes. Vitamin D has also been linked to several autoimmune disorders and has even shown a protective effect for tuberculosis.

Just goes to show, what we put in our bodies really does matter.

Just checked, mine is.

Query whether it is properly absorbed without fat consumed concurrently (e.g., vit A in veggies is absorbed better if its concurrently eaten with any oil/fat simply because its fat soulble). Don't know but could by analogy with Vit A be poorly absorbed by its own. If you have it with oats, that may be enough fat?

Every solid meal is occupanied with milk with whey protien. The exception is my bedtime Met-Rx shake which I add flaz seed oil too.
