Who here plays videogames and why?

I do, I do!!

I play video games because I Looooove them. It all started when we got a Commodore 64 when I was a wee lass, and I've been addicted ever since.

Video games are fun and that's the main reason I play. They are interactive, have cool graphics, and storylines and today they are very much like playing through a movie in which you are the star I love that aspect of them. More and more movies and television seem to be emulating some of these games which is cool. That show 24 reminds me of a video game big time. It would make a cool one.

It's also a field that I'd like to get involved in as well doing 3D modelling or some other design related stuff. I'm doing multimedia design at uni and last year we got to a few video game production houses in the area and see how it's all done. We got to see some of a Transformers game thats being made which looked pretty cool.

It seems like alot of other gals don't like playing games which I find hard to understand. I get picked on for my geeky ways all of the time but I don't care. Beats the hell out of Reality Television, craptacular sitcoms, and other assorted BS that some people seem to enjoy spending hours of thier lives doing.

I'm 35 and just built myself a nice gaming computer last year.

Almost time to upgrade. heheh


I also have a ps2, x-box and gamecube.


I know LOTS of people my age, and older, who are into gaming.

I'm currently playing WC3:Frozen Throne, TR:Angel of Darkness, Summoner 2, and Oddworld:Munch's Oddyssee.

I figure it's my substitute for going out and getting shitfaced like many other people I know.

I started with Atari. Now most of my games are for the PC, but I have an Xbox with two games.

I play... but I am only interested in multiplayer FPS's.
Current game is Battlefield 1942 (EoD mod)

BF 1942 is another fav.

Too bad I suck at it.

I'm pretty good at most fps online games like UT 2003, Quake 3, Urban Terror etc.....but BF 1942 is a different style of fps.

gaming is the perfect way for me to blow of steam/frustration of the day, mentally
as c-sharp mentioned, it's better than going out and getting shitfaced, at least in my opinion...
and I genuinely enjoy games, my favortes right now are BF (i see the trend, it's a damn good game) and ravenshield (rainbow 6)
i play with friends online versus other people on public servers, we chat during games with headphones... it's just fun

UT 2003, Quake 3,

I find these games too 'spazzy'. Not much strategy... just 'run n gun'.
BUT I've only played the demos a couple times so I could be wrong.
