if i wanted to put "credits" on something i make do i need a fancy ass machine that costs big cash?

That would be a titler and a cheap one costs about 300 bucks depending if you are going linear or non linear. Non linear would be doing your editiong on computer. Linear would be hooking up 2 vcr's with an editor and a titler etc...

are you going to be doing the editing from your pc? i would highly reccomend it... a lot cheaper to get a good video capture card and some editing software...
