yeah, i need a helmet no matter what.

I did some 1st person persepective vids but its way choppy.. i was using a digital camera that has the capability of taking a video.. not really ideal, next season I'll look into a mini DV recorder.
 
Dont worry about getting air, that's how i broke my arm.
We aren't 18 years old anymore, I need to keep telling myself that.

and def. get a helmet. It took me hitting my head once on a ramp snowboarding before I bought one. They don't look all goofy like a bike helmet either.

Yep - helmet is a must if you're a snow rider.....
 
we finally got like 30cms of snow over the weekend,im gonna try and get out even if its just 2 hrs so I can ride once more before the seasons over.

I have gotten where I go pretty fast and there's always jackasses that will get in your way or get on a black diamond and ski from one side to the other at a 2 degree angle.


I figured your season lasted well up into April being in Canada and all :confused:

usually it does but its been bare around here for the past month,the hills have been open but I wont ride on ice ,I cant afford to get hurt if something were to happen

Still, aap - the DOWNHILL skiier/rider has the RIGHT OF WAY and you should NEVER board/ski in a manner where you cannot control your speed.....

here we get the idiot children who go strait down the hill at like 90mph and take you out from behind,it sucks because Im like a stoner rider where I put on sublime and just cruise down nice and slow

So far I haven't been taken out like that....but as a skiier I have ski poles which I stick out behind me to stab at the boarder if they get too close....:evil:

And straightlining a hill out of control is a good way to get your pass/ticket pulled or really, really hurt someone....

straightlining a hill is a great way to get redic air...... and if they pulled my passs for it i would be mad pissed....... buti m not out of controlll

down hill skier? huh? isn't it all downhill? I've never seen anybody ski uphill.



I say if you can't ski in a semi straight line down then get your ass off the advanced slopes.

Time before last I was zipping along and two guys were in front of me.....one on the far left of the trail and one the far right. They were poking along so I had to go in between them. Just as I got close the guy on the left 90 degrees it right in front of me.

That's what I am talking about. Go down the slope, not left to right and get out of the way if someone is coming down faster.

think I should get some poles then? lol they dont pull anyones pass up here,we get kids jumping off the lifts trying to be cool and we hardly ever get pow so risk of injury is high.

some kid came right down the center of the pipe on me once,i just turned around to see him and straight arm his ass into the ground,ski patrol had to scoop him up lol

The point is being in control....nothing wrong with speed but you are responsible to stay in control....

aap - the "downhill" person is the person who is, say, 1/2 way down the slope when you are at the top....THEY have the right of way & YOU are responsible to avoid them & NOT hit them.....if you ride/ski in a matter that is negligent - it is YOUR fault that you hit them....they have every right to make whatever turns they want to on an expert slope.....

And you should TELL them where you are: some "On your Right" or "On your Left" is a good idea or with a boarder "Heel side" Or "Toe side"

not tryiing to be a jerk, but have u ever been to a real resort, often times slopes are narrow, and there is no way i can say on your right in time for them to respond......... if someone is cutting 90 degrees they should be on a trail, not a slope

lol I ride because its relaxing,I can fly down the hill as fast as anyone else on a board but dont see the point considering our hills are 45sec-1min ride tops.

boardin,riding straight in a park and just down the hill where there are no features are different,and like jen was saying in control and straight is fine,but most people who book it straight down a hill tucked and hoping for the best arent in control

my favorite runs at my local ski resort are steeep and usualy haev some ledges or spines to hit.... i got bored with a straight shot long ago.... unless it was out west then id carve the shit out of it

Occasionally I like to get going full throtle down the double black diamond and when I see a lame skier up ahead I'll launch myself head-first spearing their lower back with my helmet.
