Vicodin Strength?

Darksun

New member
Usually get Watson 349 (500mg) or ES (750mg) Vicodin generics...

This time, yellow tablets with "V" on it and the number on the other side of "3601"...

I don't have a PDR and a search on the net only found generics...

What is the strength?

Thanks

Let me give you a little advice from a recovering hydrocodone addict. Don't take it. If you are a bodybuilder and you need Vicoden then something is wrong. You have possibly overlifted, maybe you need a testosterone cycle to beef up your tendons and ligaments, maybe you have an inflammed joint that needs a cortisone injection or prolotherapy, or more likely, maybe you are an addict looking for an excuse to take it. I am also a physician and can tell you that throughout physician, pharmacy, veterinary, and dental recovery programs nationwide the common final pathway to death or recovery in addicts with access to prescription drugs is hydrocodone, the drug in Vicoden. That shit is bad news, bro. If you are taking it daily you will never come close to realizing your full potential as an athlete. It will sap your mind and body of any and all physical, mental, and spiritual energy. You exercise to be healthy. Then be healthy and get off the narcotics. They are not a valid part of a serious athlete's arsenal. Picture some skinny old heroin addict near death. I have friends that have kicked heroin and then hydrocodne years later. They all say the hydrocodone was the harder one to kick. Be smart. Shoot your juice, just don't smoke, drink alcohol, or take narcotics. Sorry for the rant. Just my little PSA.

Thanks for the concern Doc...

But no addiction to opiates here...
Like any pain medication, abuse potential is significant -- yes, even to Tramamdol...

Regardless, at 39 and still training hard after 20 years, every once in a while I have some joint pain and/or overall body aches that just plain makes me feel shitty in the morning...

Oh well... In a world in which a great number of Docs prescribe the follow crap far too often -- Oxycontin, Benzos, Ritalin, Ambien etc.etc.etc… -- my once a month Vicodin crutch is justified in my mind...

Anyone, no lecture needed, do you know the strength?

Thanks

its a norco (name brand)

10mg of hydrocodone, I take them for my fucked up back. Vicodin 750 has 7.5 mg of Hydrocodone and you have 10mg so they are good for pain. They are addictive and I only take them when I have to; maybe 4 pills/month. I suggest you do the same unless you want to find yourself standing in line at the methadone clinic in another few years. No I don't go because i'm not addicted; why because I don't abuse them.

Hope that helps you out basicly you have less Acetaminophen in the norco (the shit that makes you sick feeling) only 325mg where percocet and vicodin have like 500-700mg.

Sorry for the lecture and yes many (maybe most) docs do overprescribe everything. I am paranoid about healthy people using narcotics for pain not only because of my own problems with it but also just because of the fact that pain becomes narcotic smart. People who are narcotic "virgins" will get better acute pain relief from Vioxx than they will from Vicoden but those who have "been exposed" will always prefer and get better results from the narcotics. Yes, there are many types of pain that require strong narcotics to get relief but when you compare that real life need to the numbers of these type drugs consumed each year, many by athletes who consider them to be a legitimate choice for minor pain relief, the difference is astounding. I guess I shouldn't have come on so strong and I definitely apologize for making assumptions. What I should've said is just be careful, bro. That shit can eat your lunch if you let it. Thanks for the welcome and I hope to be around here quite a bit in the future. This is a great board and I get a lot of enjoyment and valuable info from reading it. I am a body building newbie and sport the classic 15 inch pipes for arms of a wannabe. At 42 I have been reading a lot and going to the gym 5 days per week for the last month. My friend's girlfriend is a competitive amateur bodybuilder and is working out with us which is fun and informative. I think I am finally getting addicted to something that is good for me. That would be different. I will keep you posted on my progress but no pics yet (wouldn't want you to fall out of your chair laughing).

Johnboy is correct, they are 10mg...I don't understand why people get fucking lectures when asking questions at elite...Give him the answer if you know it but keep the BS to yourself...(not directed at you johnboy)...

Sorry to rust your cackels IronFist but you can save your fucking lectures as well. I still don't see how anyone who calls himself an athlete can justify taking narcotics for minor pain. But hell, I'm only a doctor what the hell would I know anyway.

I don't think he is trying to lecture. Narcotics are addictive and dangerous. Just got back from rehab today visiting one of my best friends, he's there for narcotics addiction (painpills and tranqulizers). I think he is just looking out for a fellow bro. People can be addicted to this shit and not even no it. And before anyone says it, yes I know steroids can be addictive but steroids don't eat your mind up. My friend has gone from a very bright, outgoing human being to a brain dead basket case in just a few years. All because some dumbass doctor thought that making an extra buck was worth the health of my buddy. My 2 cents. BamBam

Can I ask you a personal question? What the fuck does Vicodin have to do with bodybuilding?
Shit like this doens't belong here and you know it.

Far as I know this is the "Anabolic Forum" not the "Let's Get High Forum". I'm not going to put anyone down for their drug usage, it's their body and their business. But this isn't the place to ask your recreational drug questions.
