when was the last time you watched a game w/o concentrating on the guy with the ball like a girl?

yeah he's unreal - imagine being able to run down an open field because he plays a position where he is not covered! wow! amazing!

He made about 4 guys miss before he broke into the open field brogan.

he is overrated. if you want to suck his nuts for his running ability, let's see him do it AS A RB. not saying he doesn't juke a lot of peeps, but the basic nature of his position means that he runs when he sees an open field. a RB doesn't have that luxury.

he's a thrower
not a passer
never will win a super bowl
Pittsburgh would smothercate him

I agree he might be overrated, but the athletic ability isn't. He doesn't play RB. So that argument is apples and oranges. Nobody else has ever done what he does at qb. He is one of a kind. Whether people want to appreciate it or not is their choice.

True. That's just it. If and when he ever truly develops into a great passer and has any weapons at WR (which he doesn't), he will be very very tough to stop.

that's my point right there. wtf? he has a HORRIBLE QB rating, so a lot of QB's have done what he is done, like Ryan leaf to name one. the only reason people are on his cock is cause he runs and my arguement is a very strong one IMO. not saying he is not a great athlete.

QB rating doesn't take into account rushing yards and gamebreaking plays. He is a different type of QB. He doesn't play the game like Ryan Leaf. QB Rating doesn't accurately rate his impact at the qb position. It's like judging a piano player's musical talent by his ability to sing. He does it in the unconventional way, and it's very fun to watch, and so far, it works. His team has been very successful. If he develops his passing game, maybe that qb rating number will rise.

man you are so smart i thought vick would be out there all by himself vs the entire other team..

actually the most revealing stat is yards per pass attempt
and this stat is a better measure of the overall offensive performance than that of the QB himself
same goes for the QB rating
but for those in the know, the quick and easy barometer of an offense's performance is to look at the QBs yards/pass attempt
it's an all encompassing stat
really a team stat

fuck you bro
where have I been proven wrong?
for what it's worth
my younger brother was in the league for 7 years

Anyway...I'm not in love with Vick or anything, I just don't see why so many people are against him. The guy is one of the most exciting players in the game to watch. Without him in the lineup with an identical team, the Falcons were at the bottom of the NFL last year. With him in the lineup, they have homefield advantage and a first round bye in the playoffs this year. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I just don't really understand some of them.

Vick is very talented, but he is a man w/o a position
certainly if I was a GM I wouldn't have awarded him 128 million or whatever
the Falcons will never win the super bowl burdened with this contract

I think Vick is an incredible weapon, but I prefer a better passer at the QB position. Take a Steve Young for example; he could scramble for 5-10 yards when the heat was on (where Vick probably gets 15-25) AND he was an amazing passer.

I'ds have offloaded his overvalued ass for a couple of first rate OL men and a solid defensive guy in an area of need
taken my cash and the extra draft pick or two and added to my base

someone ^^ has something against vick aka the 2nd best quarterback in the league.. not saying any names ^

Clearly a lot of people do have something against Vick and the praises he receives. ALTHOUGH, he is without a doubt not the 2nd best qb in the league. I'd put him about #5. Behind Manning, Culpepper, Brady, and McNabb.

Vick is a defensive coordinator's worst nightmare. Not the most talented passer (though one of the strongest arms), but to defend against him, a defense has to change their game completely. Contain Vick... contain Vick.. that's all I hear from the haters: yeah easier said than done. As a Falcons fan I'm ok with that, go ahead & contain Vick, we'll let Dunn & Duckett run all over you instead.

dude, vick is pretty good, but I dn't think he's the 2nd best QB. he has the tools to be, but I don't think he's the 2nd best. Of course he doesn't have moss or TO or whatever. So it's an argument that can go on and on. I really do think that he has much improvement to do, which means he can be a god. I hope they draft some money player like Mike Williams. Then we'll see something. Because Peerless Price obviously isn't a #1 WR.

manning, vick cullpepper, mcnabb.. brady is a little pussy and sucks.. he just has the best squad around him.. he'd be garbage on any other team..

so true, its sad that price is the number 1 becuz i think he would be one of the best 2's in the league. vick will hopefully mature and develop but he does what he needs to can comes thru when he needs to. ever since the west coast offense took over a few years ago with oakland and the patriots everyone is obsessed with pass rating and all of that. who says a team needs to throw the ball at all to win. vick is dangerous and thats all that important

you are right though. as long as you win, it really doesn't matter.

maybe because I've just watched the game, but I think the falcons have the best shot at going and winning the superbowl from the NFC. If the eagles can make it to the superbowl game and get TO back, now that's a different story.

but each game, especially these playoff games, make vick better. he really hasn't had that much time in the west coast offense, and one would think he'll improve the longer he plays in the system.

my prediction still stands for the superbowl. steelers over falcons

The Falcons are the most complete team in the NFC. The only thing they lack is a deep passing game, but Vick makes up for it most nights with his huge gamebreaking runs that come almost routinely. I like Atlanta to beat Philly or Minnesota.

I know sports hypotheticals are stupid, but if the eagles had TO, would you change your mind?

I forgot to add on another thread, but I felt sorta sorry for bulger. dude got beat the fuck up.

Oh yeah, Absolutely. Philly looked unstoppable with T.O., but they look pathetic without him. I still think it'd be a close game, but I'd probably look for Philly to win that one.

And Yeah Bulger didn't play a bad game, his entire team was just outmatched. He got jacked up on that safety.

Culpepper will school Vick on the art
mark my words

Roasthisberger has been exposed
the Pats D will definitely own him
Peyton, despite the Pitt D,will ouscore his "17-20" output

If they play, I would probably agree with you. Right now culpepper is better than vick, and he has better WR's than vick. But atlanta has a better team overall, I think.

If Vick had Randy Moss he'd be MVP of the league.
and he never will due to the acumen of atlanta mgmt givin him 128 miliion

Vick is an every-other-week QB... I assure you, next week he will make Gino Toretta look like his jersey's in Canton.

he is young though, and he's missed significant time due to injury. plus he's dealt with different offensive schemes. I'm not saying he's due for the hall of fame, but he has the tools to do it.

Carson Palmer of Cincy is younger
first year,tougher league
I'd build my franchise around Palmer
Vick is a bottle rocket

Cincy 8-8. Atlanta 11-5. Palmer's second year btw.

calling me stupid? atlanta's defense sucks you idiot.. do you even follow football

there really haven't been any suprises, i'm a bit diasppointed, i was pulling for the underdogs...........i think the best game will be Indy and Ne tomorrow, after that, i don't see much excitement.

8-8 in the AFC about equals 11-5 in the NFC
for the record
atlanta played the weakest schedule in the NFL
need I repeat that?
weakest scedule in the ENTIRE NFL

best game?
save for colts/denver
and atlanta/rams
all the other NFL post season games have been superb

I wouldn't say they suck. They have a pretty active front 4, and can generate sacks and turnovers and incompletions due to their pressure. they're not top 5, but they are pretty good and underrated.

well, i guess my point is that the superbowl will be less impressive than the playoff games so far.

As for Vick................he said it himself.....with his little thug retarded swagger........"Our best playa on ours team......is ours team".

Vick is an amazing athlete...............................but.......he is not the reason the Rams lost last night.

true
teh Falcons were a 7 point favorite for reasons beyond Vick
Atlanta most likely will represent the NFC in the big one
might actually be a good game

Weakest schedule besides Philly. Sure Philly played Pitt (and got schooled), Baltimore, & Minn. But remember, Atl. beat San Diego & Denver when they were both hot, as well as Carolina when they & Buffalo were the hottest teams in football. I'd rather be in a conference with Wash, Dallas, and NY than Carolina, Tampa, & NO.

You can throw that weak schedule crap out the window when it comes to the playoffs. It's a whole nother beast. Falcons will go into philly and kick the shit out of them. Just like they did to green bay. Green Bay had never lost a playoff game in lambeau. Coons went there and whooped that ass for them. And the ywill do the same to philly. :chomp:

Pathetic?

they looked pretty solid today to me.

Offense had several good drives. they pretty much dominated the vikings on both sides of the ball really. Freddie Mitchel really stepped up, i was suprised.....

Keep in mind they played Minnesota. I made that comment before today though. They did come out better than I expected, but I don't know if they can have that same offensive result against a good D like Atlanta. We shall see though. I like Atlanta to win.
