Three weeks ago I was injured severly. Up to my injury I was extremely fit and around 7% BF at 145 (I'm 5' 8"). Since my injury I have not had any form of weight or cardio work. I've done my best to lower my caloric intake while simultaneously decreasing carb and increasing protein. However, I've gained a considerable amount of fat and around 2 pounds. I realize the obvious reasons for this but the amount and how quickly I've put the fat on has me scratching my head.
The one other factor that has changed since my injury was a steady intake of vicadin to deal with the pain. Besides totally screwing my digestive system up, I'm wondering if this could have really slowed my metabolism?
Any thoughts or comments on this subject? I'd really like to hear what you guys think on this?
