I'm usually not too much into that kind of movies (I watched "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" yestersday) and I'm not on Clomid still I appreciated this Carpenter's movie
It dates from 1984 and was written before Spielberg's ET (very similar story) and is IMO just as good and more for adults
Jeff Bridges gives a great performance (so does Karen Allen)
Good supporting soundtrack (Carpenter's musical Minimalism) and cinematography
More entertaining and less arrogant than today's big blockbusters
Good movies are still good some 20 years after their opening
All in all a very decent chick flick which is not as one dimensional as some might think
John Carpenter is definitely an underrated director even though his latest movies are not up to par
