VENT: Cheap A$$ Boss...

Today is Administrative Professionals Day - a day in which you honor all administrative assistants, secretaries, & Executive Assistants. I'm an Exec Assistant to the CEO of the company... cheap ass boss didn't get me crap! He didn't even say anything either! He can't say he doesn't know 'cause a lady here gave me a big color sign saying: "You're appreciated for all you do...Happy Admin Prof Day!" - she knew they wouldn't even bother remembering. What's worse is for Boss' Day in October, I gave the bastard a $70 online gift card!! It's just not right! How can they be so damn inconsiderate!? I freakin' bend over backwards for their needs & yet I get nothing?! Just not right.... :worried:
 
Here's how cheap my company {boss} is:

Our newest printer is 7 years old.
Some of our servers, still have the old novell license dongles.
We reuse printer paper.
The "good" desktops for our end-users now have MMX technology.

LOL I hear that! Sounds like office in the stoneage!

My boss makes 500K per year not to mention the "bonuses" which is always bigger than his salary. I support 4 other execs but he's the main boss...& I have to make sure everything is taken care of at his corporate apartment here in Chicago - stock the fridge, wine etc. Too much crap for NOTHING.
 
There's such a thing as boss' day ?:confused:

No wonder I never get raises.
What kind of crap is that anyways?

LOL sure is! I think it's October 17th... something like that. But I know it's in October... Hallmark holiday's - they list them on their site. :qt:

The top 10 in our company got their homes bought and paid for by the owner.
I got offered one, but turned it down. I just don't like the idea of the owner of my work being on the inside of my personal life.

This company brings in about 30-40 million a year. It all goes to this guy's pocket, and he gets pissed off when my guys buy a new printer for the CFO.

Maybe your skirts haven't been short enough or tight enough lately?

Definately dont spend $70 on himthis year. Plus maybe he did not want to insult you by giving you something on Secretary Day if you are more than a secretary. I never heard of Admin Asst day, I know my calendar say Secretary Day.

Be cool, you know how much you do around there, Sorry your boss let you down.
 
Why dont you just tell him? I would.

Start looking for a new job, dont give any notice and when you leave em hanging out to dry answering his own god damn phone.. tell him why.. then tell him to fuck off. I hate cheap fucking bosses too.

LOL now THAT sounds like a plan! Yeah believe me, he KNOWS about it, he's just VERY inconsiderate. He's very cheap, & he doesn't like when people take days off...& he expects for me to work from 8-5:30pm everyday, if not longer. - Salaried, therefore no overtime.

Hey our boss didn't even show up today. Which is probably the best gift he could give for admins asst. day.

My former boss sent me flowers to my current job!! Now everyone has been stopping by my desk asking who they're from etc. Damn I miss my boss...(he's in Cali now)... :qt:

LOL Glad for you! Mine travels a lot (lives in Philly & we have offices in NY, Chicago, etc.) but when he's traveling it's like as if he were here anyway! Oh well...hmm, now that's monster.com right? ;) :qt:

Yes one of my favorite sites. Too bad geology jobs that pay as well as mine are hard to come by.

make sure ur new boss sees that your OLD boss sent you flowers for secretary day, that will make him feel like shit.
 
I'm an Administrative Medical Assisatant and didnt get shit either. We are so underappreciated. LOL. Now we have an excuse to go out and buy our own gift for all of the hard work that we do. (crak600 is going to kill me for that comment).

That was rude that your boss didnt do anything for you and you got that nice gift for him, but we all know that some men are assholes. Especially bosses.

You must not think hes too bad if you spent $70 on him for bosses day, Ive never heard of someone doing that for their boss. Either that or he pays you really well in order for you to drop that money on him like its no big deal.
 
Tell him from now, "Every year on Adm Assis Day I will take the day off". Mark it on your calendar, "DAY OFF" lol

or Every year on that day, ask him for a raise. lol Whether you get a review/raise every 6 months or a year, ask him anyway.

Actually I was so used to having great bosses in the past & they showed their appreciation on Admin Prof Day by giving us gifts etc., & we returned the favor. I bought him a gift certificate for Boss' Day & evidently, he's not the type to remember or do the same. It's just common sense. But oh well...guess you wouldn't understand!
