Vehicle GPS Navigation devices -- Any experiences?

Anyone own their own in-car navigation system? I"ve used them in car rentals, but looking to buy one for a cross-country trip.

i have a portable one that I love, but its very simple and didn't cost much.

Mine fell off the window after 9 months and never worked again.

It was a Magellan. I loved it while it worked.

I need to try a warranty claim.

I have mine in my acura rl...thing is the best piece of equipment I've ever had. I highly, highly reccomend it. I am terrible with directions and because of the nature of my job I go to a lot of different offices and construction sites...for the most part the thing gets me right there. Don't know what I'd do without it. I'll never buy a car without one.

I actually work at a GPS company right now. All i can say is be sure to buy one from a reputable company and not some little cheap one. Its well worth it...you dont want your car to all of a sudden dissapear off the map or drive into the middle of an ocean

I'm checking the consumer reports & a couple boards about GPS -- interesting stuff.

So far the Nuvi 350 is looking good for the price range....
