First question, by your handle I will assume you are a vegetarian? If so, please post your daily 'contest' diet...my guess is if you ARE a vegetarian, then you're eating a wonderful diet rich in grains and carbs and lacking in quality proteins, if youre a vegan that is even worse...

But regardless please post your so-called 'contest diet' and I think I can help you, and I am not attempting to be condescending...I just think that in this day and age barring some disorder there is virtually reason to be fat at all.

Is there protien in sperm? It isn't considered meat is it? Hell, i'm single now, if any vegetarians are looking for some FREE protien, pm me:D had to say it

Whiskey

Whiskey,
My boyfriend looked up the ingredients in ejaculate and found that creatine was in it. Protein, if its there, is negligible. try the creatine line on the buff girls. Maybe more success? It can be expensive after all. ;-)

Sure Frackal, I can always use constructive criticism. This diet seems to works very well for me, if you call losing about 1% a week very good.

The basic outline is:

Meal One: protein, fruit, complex carb, veggies
4 egg whites plus 1 whole egg scrambled with diced veggies, a piece of fruit, and .5 cup oatmeal

Meal Two: protein, fruit, complex carb, veggies
1 cup cottage cheese, plus some fruit salad (melons, berries, grapes), and maybe a salad with oil & balsamic vinagrette

Meal Three: Protein, carb, veggies
tuna in a whole wheat pita, made with oil &balsamic and diced veggies

**Work out**

Meal Four: Protein, veggies
low carb whey shake with a few frozen strawberries tossed in
(generally dont like veggies with this)

Meal Five: Protein, veggies
probably cottage cheese again or else just plain tuna

Its not that awful a diet I guess its just that I'm damn tired of eating the same shit.

By the way, Frackal, I don't generally eat that well...I hope I didn't give you the impression that I constantly follow a contest diet.

Also: I just started eating tuna again, its not exactly a staple in my diet. Inevitably someone will make a fuss about me calling myself a vegetarian while eating tuna. As many people will tell you, there are several different types (or, "degrees") of vegetarianism. Mine is based upon several factors, including my issues with the way factory farmed animals are treated and the methods by which they are killed. I'm not against eating free range meat on any moral grounds, but after being a veg for over 3 years the idea of eating meat is pretty disgusting to me. I never did like the taste. I also don't really like the idea of being personally responsible for the meat industry in general, or for killing any sentient being in particular. I think of tuna fish as closer to insects than pigs. Its hard to think of insects as particularly sentient, and its hard to see how a tuna fish could be wrongly treated.

Veggie Girl, have you thought about adopting a plan that allows you one cheat day a week to eat whatever you like? This is said to have a positive effect on your metabolism, countering the evolutionary 'slow-down response' to a hypocaloric diet...

Another suggestion are atkins products...he makes a fairly wide variety of very low glycemic bread and treat products that can be adapted to be very beneficial to you in your situation.....for example, what if I told you you could eat brownies tomorrow that taste excellent (the mix tastes just like real brownie mix) but will
be free of sugar and not carry the negative insulin effects that the carbs in regular brownies will....

Go to GNC or some place that sells atkins products.....buy what interests you, (try the maple syrup, very good 0 calorie) and just adapt it to fit you, which basically means eliminating adding the fat to the recipe..dont worry, it will still taste great.

Finally I have to suggest ala and more specifically r-ala added to this, which will lean you up and keep you lean by managing your carbs more efficiently.... you can buy it in pill and powder form ...

Also, to be more creative with your food choices....the food you picked is incredibly banal, with a little extra time you can make great tasting dishes that fit your nutrient requirements.

Lastly, an l-tyrosine/l-phenylanaline/5htp combo MAY help reduce your cravings for sugary carbohydrates...some people at gnc have had positive results with this combination at my suggestion...

Frack you seriously like the atkins bread products.... i am wayyyy too leary of low carb bread and pasta and such.

Wow Frackal thank you for all the suggestions! Zero-sugar brownies sound excellent. I have thought about one day off per week, as in Body For Life, but seems to me that would be akin to binging. I have issues with binging, so its no good for me to have designated cheat days or meals because those make it real hard for me to control it. The food I listed in bland as hell, you're right, and that's why I'm averse to dieting. Do you have any ideas as to how exactly make these things "great tasting"? I'm very open to suggestions. I've gone on the muscle food board but it doesnt seem to have many creative ideas beyond protein pancakes and what to put in cottage cheese.

Also, if you have the time and/or desire, would you be able to explain how exactly to use the supps you suggested? Considering that I'm extraordinarily broke right now, which would be the most helpful ones to get?

Yes I will be glad too - Will have to wait until tomorrow evening sometime after I get off work I will be relaxing on here for a bit and will respond then. :) Have to get to bed now though

5'4" at 135 is not that heavy. I'd do you baby.

PM me about the supps....

As far as food goes, it truly is not difficult...but you do need to have a proper basic understanding of nutrition, and once you do you can adapt virtually any recipe to fit your needs
