Was there for the 4th time this year yesterday... powder up to my waist on the back side of the mtn, and they got almost another foot last night. Chutes, Cornices, Glades... got it all.

You could board/ski there all season and only do 50% of the mountain. My favorite part is the Ghengis Khan run down China Bowl to Chairs 36/37 up to the Blue Sky, then back down steep and deep to Chair 39 up to Resolution and dropping off in the trees. Yesterday there was 3ft or more fresh snow back in the trees off resolution.

canyons in utah is as big as that. if not bigger

The Canyons is only around 4,000 I think. I know Snowbird is 2,500, it's usually where I go.

You really don't need 6,000. You'll never have time to hit it all. At 2,500 it takes most of the season to hit everything Snowbird has to offer.

oohhhhhhh snow up to your shins?
so that's like a whole 8"????
lol
nigguh, having that on the front side of the mountain where people have already tracked through, that's after being ridden on... other places it was waist deep.

it is true you only ski the front of the mountain your first run up and last run down... the rest of the time it's blue sky basin or vaChina bowl.

Bro I will be there SATURDAY!!! March 1st - 6th I will be in Vail!! Give a good bro a call!

Vail is my home mountain. Keep your ugly, geighboarder ass off of it.

Everyone knows you didn't get past chair 12.

Took you guys long enough to get the snow... three weeks ago in Washington we got 9 ft in one week, ontop of the endless freshies. I have been to Vail a few times, it's fun just not vary challenging. Want good skiing, head to Alta or Jackson.

That's why I like Alta lol, no boarders allowed. Nothing worst then seeing some newb snowboard side slipping a chute scraping all the good snow off exposing the ice.

I have that bumper sticker on my truck. "Side slipping is not Snowboarding"

I don't think many newb boarders would be in any sort of steep chute, and that cant be any worse than a pole rider snowplowing down the hill.

Trust me if there is a lift that will take them high enough, the newbs will find someway to side slip it. He he.

you know what my favorite part of the day is usually? Watching pretentious pole riders try and go back up the hill to grab their skis when they crash and fall off. IF they're wearing Spyder, North Face, Columbia, or Dakine stuff I'll just ride by. If they're wearing Swanny I may stop... probably not tho.

Most of the good chutes are on the front side of vail or in East Vail anyways and who goes to either of those parts of the mountain?

That's reason enough to stay out of east Vail... they have runs called the death chutes... be my guest though skier  :qt:

Most of the time I was on 36, 37 or 39... back when you went to vail there probably were only 12 chairs anyways.

He he, I didn't hit that part of Vail. I ski raced there every year but did not get much free ski time. I'm down with boarders also, i'm not about the ski vs snowboard bullshit. I just hate seeing newbs on shit they shouldn't be. Kind of like a 19 year old asking about steriods.

This is my area, very small but very steep. More cliffs then you can shake a stick at -

Two at Alpental :p these are old

A few years ago we had a really bad season, super boiler plate. This dumb ass skier wanted to go down International, which is a 12 ft drop just to get into it and super steap the whole way and wraps around at the end into another steap section. Anywho... This guy makes the drop in, blam both skies go flying off and he starts down the mountain like a rocket. He slid the entire way down, completely melting his ski outfit to his skin, he has warn his ski suit all they way down in the front and was scraping on his chest, crotch and legs. He was fucked up and they air lifted him out, he lived but was it worth is?

I know you have to be a bad mofo to ski, especially race... props for that. I may have still skied (that's what I did first, a looooooong time ago) but ACLs are expensive, and the rehab wasnt worth it for me.

Ski (if you're geigh) or board, just get out and effing shred!

I'd like to go with someone who will drop off of cliffs within reason, jump down cornices etc etc... nobody I ride with does that regularly. Beefcake28 is a helluva boarder though, he's taught me a lot in the last year.

You wanna hit the cliffs? Lets do it. It's been quite a while since I've done shit like that, but I need to start pushing myself again... Cliffs, gaps, etc. I've been too sloppy and lazy with riding for far too long. Gotta get back in the game. I used to live for that adrenaline.

I heard you only do greens and blues lestat style.

Oh shit, that's right... I guess in my 15 years of riding, I forgot to ever hit those 40 foot gaps in the terrain park, nail the spins from a big ass kicker, or to drop the cliffs.

It's been a while, but I'm no n00b to teh game.

Can we just stay on the bunny hill next time? I need to work some more on transitioning between heelside and toeside edges as I side slip down the mountain. Kthnks.

it's not my fault you can't hold your liquor on the mountain.

Don't make me school both you and JuicedPiggyTails on how to ride teh steeps, terrain park, or... pretty much anything else... I can't handle that.

Oh, wait... Yeah, I can. Carry on.
