Vacation Hell/Heaven?

I'm looking for some freshly squeezed opinions & experiences.

Wife and I are wanting to get away for a week. We already have the condo in Myrtle Beach, but were looking for someplace else. (not looking to purchase)
Wife has suggested a cruise, I'm not totaly against it, but wonder how much fun it really is. One of my apprehensions are that I'm not a huge fan of being around shit loads of people.
Ive thought about some "all inclusives" to Costa Rica, Riviera Mya, Negril, St. Croix, Hawaii.
Where have you been RECENTLY, and what was your experience like?

Cruise hands down! I love em! Go on a 7 day somewhere. I always enjoyed the ones I caught (carnival) in San juan Puerto rico and went to the islands in the eastern Caribbean. The thing about cruises is you can do as much or little as you want. I don't like being around of people either, I like to relax by myself and there is ways to do that on the boat just have to find a little area you like that quiet.

For what it's worth, if I were to look for a place to stay for a week inclusive, I would look on st Thomas in the virgin islands. Maybe somewhere to see Magen's bay. I'm almost 100% sure but I think they have a commercial airport to fly into so you don't have to take a smaller plane in.
