using test enanthate w/ antiest?

quick question for you guys...

i'm 6ft 165 and about 8%. my friend's 5'9 145 and 7%. we're considering taking test enan at 400mg/wk, but really don't want to do it w/o a good anti-est like nolvadex. we're not looking to do competition, but just looking to gain mass. what sorts of dosages would you guys suggest w/ the nolvadex? or do you recommend something other than nolvadex? is baldness a big consideration? we're new to this, so any suggestions with test would be nice. we're just looking to use it to push our training over the top, not as a substitute. what do you think would be a good sample cycle? we've spoken to a number of users but most of them are already 230 lbs and up so we're looking for more opinions based on our makeup. thanks for your help
 
How old are you guys? If you're under 21 forget about any kind of gear for a while. I wouldn't suggest anyone under 25, but I know there are a lot of users under that. If you're looking to put on some size you bros need to start eating! You're B/F tells me you guys need to start eating more if you're looking to gain. I'm not talking 20% or anything, but definitely more. I didn't start gaining until I hit 4300 calories a day (off gear), and I had a build similar to yours. That's a lot of eating, that takes a lot of planning. Try to take in as much of your calories, especially protein from whole food sources & hit up about 2 weight gainer shakes a day.

You've obviously done some reading judging by your choice of only test, & at a reasonable dosage. A good 1st cycle is 400-500mg/wk of test. Have the nolva on hand in case you develop any signs of gyno (itchy/sore/puffy nipples). Run clomid for 3 weeks, starting 2 weeks after your last shot of test. There is plenty of dosage info on clomid on this board.
 
thanks a lot, Ajax. what about hair loss though? is there anything to curb this particular side effect because I noticed some hair loss when I took andro freshman year of college. I turn 23 in January and my workout buddy turned 21 in August. I know this may still be a little young in some people's opinion, but we really just want to push over training over the top. I wrestled and played football in High School, I worked out as much as I could in college, and I continue to be a skinny dude. I mean, I'm ripped, but still skinny. We want to put on some mass and we need to know how to do it. After researching for quite a while we have decided to gear up...so here's where we need help now. Any more insight for beginners is very very welcome and appreciated. We want to start soon...we already have our test, but we need to do this right so please help us out.

You may not need that much test to get the results you are looking for. Lots of people did first cycles with 250mg of test. Hairloss may be an issue but it may not, either way you won't go bald from your cycle. If you feel your scalp is getting real itchy, then you may experience some shedding.
 
Everything you need is in my 1st post. I would get your calories up now, & get used to eating that much for a while before starting. I try to keep my diet as clean as possible, but because I do have a pretty fast metabolism I can add some junk food and get away with it. I usually eat at least 2 double cheeseburgers & a pizza a week. Eating is the whole key to putting on size. Without the food you're just not gonna grow.

I doubt if you'll have any problems with hair loss on just test. If you do there are plenty of remedies to slow it down.

You could try 250mg/wk of test but that is really mild IMO. I would just stick to the 500mg/wk. That is still on the mild side, & you should really put on some size if your diet is in check.
