using clomid as a antiestrogen.......

transplant

New member
I was wondering if anyone has used clomid as a antiestrogen, during a cycle! I know it is to be used post cycle, but have read some articles on using it during and post.

clomid is not an anti-E

Ugh!

Clomid is a mixed estrogen agonist/antagonist. It is an anti-estrogen and works like nolvadex by binding to the ER in the breast and blocking estrogen from binding. Although nolvadex has a stronger affinity for the ER, clomid can be used at 50mg EOD since its half-life is much longer than nolvadex. If its all you have it will be fine.

thanks

I was just waiting for that jackass to respond! Thanks NIMROD25......that was the info I know, but was looking for someone who has done it. I am really worried about the acne from the clomid & AS together.

Yes clomid can be used as a anti-est, but it is not as strong as nolva. I only take nolva if i have signs of gyno, I take clomid 50 mg eod after my cycle.

It's the only anti-E ive used after my first cycle (I used nolvadex for my first cycle, didnt realize it was a waste of $$ until after). In adequate dosages, it works great. According to Bill Roberts, 50mg of clomid is about as equipotent as 20mg nolvadex at inhibiting the bad E effects. But, clomid is also an agonist to the estrogen receptors you want to keep active- so it helps with blood lipid profiles and bone growth as well.

I still cant believe the confusion around the anti-e's. Clomid, nolva, anastrozole, femara, exemestane, letrozole etc etc etc ARE ALL anti-e's. The only difference is thier effectiveness, method of action, etc etc. Certain anti-e's function better for certian things and at certian times.
