Using Arimidex... beware very aware!!

Arimidex fucks with your bad cholestrol levels is a big way. If you got a family history of high Cholestrol, take head!
This isnt new to the board but I thought I would let it be known.
Just went to the doctor for my post-cycle medical. Got blood work back showing higher than normal enzymes levels and the HIGH Cholestrol. Very high!! 4.18 is my measurement. Normal for my age of 29, is less than 3.4. At this high level, prescription drugs are warranted to reduce the high cholestrol.
My doctor is one of those book worm types and is one of the most intelligent doctors I've ever seen. He is aware of the steriods and has given me 3 months to help bring down the cholestrol. We went over the proper low cholestrol diet, which I already follow to a tee. I dont eat read meat, only a couple of yolks a week, consume high fibre, and flax oil. I bet you didnt know this but diet only controls 20% of your cholestrol. The other 80% is manufactured by the liver. Testosterone has a big part in the amount being produced. When you take extra test, the liver makes more bad cholestrol.
Arimidex shuts down your estrogen which is natrually a high cholestrol fighter. So regardless of the diet, the arimidex and high levels of test fuck cholestrol up in a seriuos way.
Hopefully things are reversible, I go back in 3 months. By then everything should be back to normal. There still is a VERY good chance that things wont return and perscription drugs will be the only solution.
For those that dont know, High Cholestrol is very bad and it's effect are one of the top killers in NA. Stokes, heart attacks, high blood pressure. Be aware.

i run femera now, but i would imagine the same problem would present itself, for that reason i keep my fat intake down to 10% of total calories per day, keeping cholesterol down as much as i possibly can

I haven't had my cholesterol check since I think last cycle or just before but it was fine then. Maybe it's time for another check.

What kind of natural supps can help lower cholesterol? Also, can someone post a rough diet of a low cholesterol diet and foods to AVOID? Thanks.

This is a temporary effect.

Similar to taking Accutane, your chol leves get elevated while you are on the drug.

The thing with chol is, the biggest problem is the cumulative effect over time. THAT is what addss the danger to your heart and arteries.

There is a secondary effect of the chol level at the moment, making the blood a bit different in its consistency and making it a bit harder to push through the vascular system.

The bottom line, try to keep it down, but as long as you dont keep it elevated too LONG there should not be a big problem if you are otherwise young and healthy.

If you are older (so that you already have a lot of plaque buildup in your arteries) and mayne ON something (like AS which would really tax your systems like Test, Fina, HGH, etc) and stay on Arimdex a while (adding more plaque, and taxing your systems even more), then I would be concerned.

Thats my understanding. If anyone has more info or corrections, I would be interested.

I'm not outlining a diet but you want to eat high fiber and stay away from saturated fats and high cholesterol foods like many types of shell fish. Omega 3's and 6's are good for you and can help - found in cold water fish like salmon and nuts. Exercising helps a great deal obviously. That's another thing - BB, you may want to try and up the cardio. So as to supps, I'd say omega 3's, 6's, 9's, as well as sugar-free metamucil.

I don't know what to think right now. I'm currently on accutane, but before I took it my chol level was 2.1, which is strange because half my diet consists of steak and eggs! But anyways I'm most likely doing a sust cycle in the near future using arimidex, I wonder if I should be quite concerned

My doctor, having been a microbiologist prior to family practise went into great detail with me the effects of anabolic steriods on the liver in great detail. I will try to regurgitate the info a best I can. In a nut shell exogenous hormones begin to act on cells in the liver down at the DNA reading level. The liver is constant filtering our body of our nature bi-products keeping us from poisoning to death. The liver regenerates at a very high rate because it is constantly battered by the damage done both naturally and from the other things we do to our body. Outside hormones have a direct effect on the replication of these cells. If you have a PREDISPOSITION to cancer, the steriods cause these cells to possibly read their DNA code incorrectly and now can be replicating incorrectly. The body's natural ability to destroy the damaged cells is not able to do so because these cell reproduce so quickly. Cancer can result. Not after the first cycle but after numersous insults to the liver. Your liver may never be as strong as it was previous to steriods.
Going back to the cholestrol thing, the liver produces 80% of the Cholestrol in our system. The juice has the ability to impared its function permanently so even though we are off the gas the liver may not return to it's previous healthier state.
I am sure this is the worst case scenario. This will not happen to everyone, just the unfortunate that have the potential in them. My intentions are not to bad mouth steriods, I just thought it would be beneficial to bring this to the board so people can make educated decisions on there health and well being.
Binge drinking should be a thing of the past as well. It goes back to the liver replicating incorrectly. If you punish your liver with alcohol you are putting huge stress on the organ. When it heals, and regenerates itself there is the possiblity that the cells will be retarded from the previous juice. Retarded cells = cancer.

I did my best to resite the info. If you dont believe what I have written ask any professional with microbiology experience. I wouldnt count on any regular doctor to get into detail like my doctor did. I have told countless Doc's about juice, all they say is it is bad. Not really why. I bet they dont even know why?
