use by dates

I know it's obvious you should use any supplement within its use by date but could someone tell me what happens to an AAS for example deca, once its past its use by date does it become dangerous or just less effective.

I also have some clen that I have had for a while and is a few months over its use by date.I have kept the tabs in a cool dry atmosphere away from any light source. Will they be affected by the date? Will they be just less effective?

As you said, if kept away from light (deca is especially prone to light degradation) and cool area than drugs can be used years past expiration dates!

I have a feeling I am going to get shot down for this but I have some deca which is twelve months past its date. It's been kept in a locked suitcase and each vial is its own box it was supplied in.

In the US, drug companies are required by the FDA to use an exp. date that is in actuality one year before the real exp. date. After the exp. date, the drug begins to degrade slowly. But, as said previously, certain factors can make this a very very slow process (keeping away from light and heat).

I'm sure you are talking about drugs from other countries here, and I don't know what standards they have. I would doubt there are as strict of regulations as in the US.

Bottom line...assuming your drugs have been kept in a resonably cool place, and are still in packaging or have brown glass bottles or have been kept in a dark place...you're most likely fine. It's not like milk where it goes sour or bad...just slightly less potent over time.

Oh goody. Its the norma deca I have and some clen.both are around twelve months out of date.was really not wanting to bin them.I like my deca very mucho.

in the EC maximum expiration time is 5 years; the drug cos. don't challenge this law because it generates addl sales when people throw working stuff away and buy new ones.
supplements btw., i am currently using an ephedra production with an exp. date of 1998 (!) i found while moving into a new apt; something called "thermadrene"; it works great!

I asked a similar question over at AF a few weeks ago. Check this out.

I have two vials of prop—both manufactured in May 2002, and both with different expiration dates:
  • from a compounding pharmacy; May 2002 / Exp. May 2003
  • from a well known respected UG lab; May 2002 / Exp. May 2006
