Usa 3-9 months Trip

underattack

New member
Gonna travel with my gf for 3-9 mnths to the us. We mainly go to get some
Time off and relax. Wil hit the gym even harder than at home. And prolly have to get some smal few weeks jobs to refill money. Any tips on how to travel and stay? Is it better to rent an appartment for a few months befor moving on to another place? Or is motels etc cheap enough?
We have bever been in the us so we obviously want to travel some and ser different places :)

great story

Get a camper and stay in trailer parks. Can't even imagine finding an apartment for a few months.

Fuck... don't ask me. I am out of touch.

Haha damn i love you guys :)
I can stay at hotels but i dont like that shit about having less control over
My food. A camper is a nice idea but i think i would go fucking crazy really ;)

The only apartments you're going to find where you can rent for a few months at a time are college towns at the start of the semesters or run down shitholes with cum stains on the walls and human remains buried underneath the property.

So noone is renting out guest houses etc? Thats shitty ;)

Some summer houses on the beach, lake, mountains sure. Be prepared to have a lot of money to spend on those though. Thousands a month.

Ah okay :/ we have around 20k we can spend. So dependi g on how much everything costs. we stay until we are out of money :)

You can get some beach houses for rent on the Gulf of Mexico (Gulf Shores, Alabama) for around $1,200 a month, for a three month summer contract. Of course, this keeps you around that one area (Mobile, Alabama; New Orleans, Louisiana; Pensacola-Panama City, Florida). IMO, the gulf is one of the areas of the nation I would check out if I were a visitor, especially in the summer. Lots of amazing seafood, lots of music concerts on the beaches, lots of parties.

Rent a motorhome and just travel in that. That way you have a toilet and shower. You can go where ever you wanna go. It won't take long to blow 20,000.

That sounds great! Nice idea. Will do that if i stay 4+ so i have time to see more also

Norway, havent decided where to go yet. Any place i need to see?
NYC on the east coast, LA/Hollywood area on the west coast, maybe a couple stops in between. I would say America is most interesting if you avoid the regular tourist stuff and see it on a road trip. I'm sure many more will chime in and disagree.

Was thinking about renting a nice care for a few weeks and do a roadtrip. Maybe thats a nice route to try :) thx man

If you stay in NY, get an executive apartment in Albany.

They rent month-to-month, come furnished, and have a kitchen to save money on meals. Run about $1,500 a month but that's half what you'd pay for a hotel room(with no kitchen).

Then you can take the train into NYC whenever you want.

Nice tip thanks :) will def go to ny also :)

most non vacation rentals will require a one year lease so if you need just 3-9 mo you should look for sublets or vacation rentals

why don't you move here for a year and rent a apartment. you could rent an apartment for around 12,000 a year, find a job training part time and have fun.

My company had an intern from Denmark a couple years ago. Apparently the Danish govt help fund long term trips, so students can study abroad and see the world. The first thing this guy did was come to CA and buy an old Cadillac Eldorado. He said you can't get a big ol' gas guzzling American car like that in Europe, so he wanted to take pictures and videos of him with that car for his friends back home.
