rite in the uk i understand its legal to have AS aslong as ur not selling it - but is this a loophole? is it LEGAL to buy them ? or can you get screw'd buying them from a bad source

Since it's illegal to buy it, or to give it away, if you receive it from someone in the UK then you can be done as an accomplice. As such, it'd be illegal to buy AAS down at the gym.
It's legal to bring it into the country for personal use and it's legal to buy it from a country where it's legal to sell it. So, if you bought some over the Internet from the States then that'd be illegal without a prescription. China and Greece might be good choices.
There's also some other quirk to the law which has caused some people to be prosecuted for having fake gear whereas they'd have been fine if the gear had tested out as genuine. This gives you an extra reason not to buy from a scammer.
I'm not a lawyer, this is just from my own research.

so can a scammer actaully be the police under cover?
is it then perfectly legal for us in the uk to buy from sellers in china and greece and get it sent to our door with out the worry of the boogie men jumpin out the bushes and aresting us?

Can i just correct you.... Not all steroids are Class 'C' controlled substances. Alot of steroids come under 'PO' clasification which is Prescription Only drugs. This is actually a class below Class C drugs in terms of criminal severity. Drugs like HCG;Tamoxifen and certain anabolics are 'PO'. The classification is determined often by the chemical dosage.
