The real dilema is the US gets a larger % of its imported oil from him than Saudi Arabia. I believe only Canada and Mexico provides more.

He is riding a huge windfall of US dollars as the price of oil climbs.

I would expect a quick change in government if he cuts off oil exports to the US. In the meantime, he rants and hugs Castro. Very, very poor strategy.
