anyone try this. i am trying to lower my cholesterol without taking any meds that are harsh on my liver. does this lower bad cholesterol and raise good c?

To lower your cholesterol and have a better HDL/LDL ratio, you should:

-avoid saturated fats (i.e. fried food, animal fats, dairy fats, reg. mayo etc.)
-eat foods rich in EFAs such as, fatty fish (salmon, mackerel etc.), avocados, flax oil, olive oil, nuts (almonds, walnuts)
-try some CLA supplement
-eat a diet rich in fibre (oatmeal, vegetables, fruits, psyllium husks etc.)
-have a glass of red wine a few times a week
-eat unrefined foods such as complex carbs. High GI carbs have shown to negatively affect chol. levels.

Hope that helped

Guggelsterones are apparently all the rage lately for lowering cholesterol.....or do I have my facts wrong??

I'm not positive about the Twin Lab product you mentioned.....but I imagine it's a finely standardized guggul extract of some form or another...at least that's what I heard that Twin Lab was coming out with.....could be wrong....

It wouldn't hurt to try that twinlab product cholesterol success, because if I am not mistaken they offer a money back guarantee. So I would try it and that get more blood work done and if nothing changed send a copy of your blood work to the company and they will most likely give you a refund. Good luck man.....

p.s. I have heard things like flax oil, hawthorne, cayenne, green tea extract, and garlic all have positive effects on lowering cholesterol, hope that helps. Also, make sure and get plenty of soluble fiber, it has been shown to lower serum cholesterol, it is found in things like oat bran, brown rice, oatmeal, etc.....good luck
