Tutition $$ hard at work

I work out at the school gym (Strom Thurmond Center). It is only a couple years old and cost many, many millions of dollars to build. So, I go in this morning and they are redoing the basketball court flooring. I asked why, and apparently a basketball hit a sprinkler and water damage ruined the floor. I am sure the insurance will cover, but that is ridiculous! (3 courts!)

most sports places have a net hanging a metre below the ceiming to stop stray balls and shuttlecocks

what gives...millions of $$ and no net?

i guess they have a really high quality wooden floor....i wonder how long it soaked in for...surely they would have tried to stop the water coming out of 1 sprinkler fairly quickly

^yea no shit how long was this water just sitting there?

it doesn't seem like it would take a long time to take care of the sprinkler and soak that shit up.

stupid shit like that makes me pissed when schools bitch about not enough government money

fleecing of america....what about pick up games...i'm sure someone has spilled a gatorade or two...maybe it was soaked for a long time... remember one year when there was a torrential rain.. flooded the basement of the gym , maybe 5 ft high where the weight room was. Could see the water line how high it went up to....now i can understand replacing all the weights and stuff in this case.
