i make good money, have good credit, have a house,2 cars. i have paid loans off before. anyone know why i might have been turned down? ive never had credit cards before, but i need one now for travelling.

check your credit report...it might be that you have open lines of credit or are just carrying too much debt. if you made any late payments, that could count against you too.

Yeah they have to state why you got turned down when they reject you...and they'll send you a free credit report which based their decision if you ask for it.

i got the letter saying declined without an explaination. and i barely have any debt. ive always paid everything on time too. i honestly dont understand.

That's like a fraud/identity red flag...check your credit report...it's free if you have been declined recently.
America’s three credit reporting agencies (TransUnion, Equifax and Experian)
I like the Equifax number system better than the long vague sentences of the others.

not to brag(just letting you know my situation)I've owned 3 homes(paid for)2 cars(paid)one motorcycle(paid),and have fucking awsome credit.But for the life of me,I can not get a credit card,not even a best buy card,or SEARS!!I think they only give you cards if you have bad credit?:/

cheers for the reply bro, must be something like that. they give cards to students. i am in shock i got declined. personally i think they should be tripping over themselves to give cards to guys like me but...oh well.

your right man,I think they actually give cards to those that have red marks on their credit,seeing as they can rape them when they don't pay their bill.

the only reason why they would decline you is because you have bad credit. could be you have been sent to collections without you knowing about it. yes, that could happen. like its been said already, check your credit report and see whats going on

CHECK YOUR CREDIT REPORT!!!! Even for those that havent been rejected its a good idea, I had an error on mine that would have definitely affected me had I been looking for a car/house loan...luckily I wasn't at the time but I checked it after someone else told me to do it because they had the same problem.

Even if you have to pay for it...the 9.99 or whatever it is, is well worth it IMO
