Turbo Code is a brilliant concept. They add on a turbo module to the server - it is connected to the outgoing packet stream via a special connection to the ethernet card.
In then collects some of those outgoing packets (the packets that would normally being going to those poor non-plat slobs) and then it forces them all into a special chamber. Here, in that chamber, via an intercooler, the code is compressed down to a much smaller and efficient packet (everyone knows that a cold circuit is a more efficient one due to lowered resistance).
then it uses the force of that incoming stream to turn a turbine chip that forces out the colder, compressed packets through the ethernet card out to the platinum members.
That is how we get such fast downloads.
Granted, there is a bit of a turbo lag if there aren't enough non-plat members on, but once they build up and post enough to get the outflow of packets going, then man we get really cranking.
Unfortunately, due to this lag and then the sudden and extreme high output, we also occasionally get torque steer and the site accidentally redirects us off to other sites, like massquantities and anabolicfitness.
