i heard this talked about briefly on the stern show. they were disgusted too. but i got the impression that the dudes who aired this shit were pretty much fucked. as if they had been fired and would never get another gig in radio again. but i don't know.

aside from being in horrendously bad taste, it's just not close to funny. and horribly unmusical too (more than i would like to tolerate for the sake of humour).

I was a HUGE Stern fan, and yup he was the originator (in NY anyway). But after he cut martling loose his show lost the real comedy edge for me (that guy was a genius and a joke encyclopedia). Also, after he got mega-rich he stopped being the rebel outsider and started talking about the Hamptons & dinner at Pasti's. I lost interest.

O&A is the future. Anthony is as quick & twisted funny as martling with the added advantage of being able to do characters & voices. and opie is just plain evil nutz. howards early anger x 1000. that show rocked on 'NEW. havent heard them yet on XM tho. give them a chance you'll love it.

They had a very serious & uptight traffic reporter Donna Fiducia, who's now a reporter on FOXNEWS (so you know where she's coming from). called her Donna Fi-Douchebag. Used to torture her to the verge of tears everyday.

Opie and Anthony are more original than Hoo Hoo [Stern]. I thought Stern was great, and then after Opie 'n' Anthony went to XM you find out little things about him like Stern refused to do a press conference b/c O&A were in the audience. He comes off on the radio as a take no shit personality, but he bitches out.

Geoboy: You should check them out on XM. Quality entertainment. Well worth the money.

I was listening to O&A, and they mentioned that the gov't won't fine them because they said nothing that violated FCC regulations. Bad taste doesn't equal monetary fine.
