Truth about metabolism and cutting while on?

Ok so I've read over and over on here how steroids don't help you lose fat / cut but I honestly just can't see how this could be true.

Maybe its my age (45) and that I have naturally low T but I have a very good handle on my calorie consumption and what my maintenance is with various amounts and types of cardio exercise and lifting routines. I also know how much I can safely go over my maintenance without gaining too much bodyfat naturally (NOT MUCH).

Now I am on 500mg test / week and I have been upping my cals 500 / week when I stop gaining weight. I am eating so freaking much approaching 5000 calories per day @ 205lbs and not gaining much bodyfat. My metabolism seems to be in overdrive.

And . I'm HUNGRY. My stomach never grumbles in the morning but it is starting to. I can't imagine a serious cut on this stuff I would be hungry all the time - but imagine that @ 2500 cals or so with a moderate amount of cardio that the fat would just melt off.
 
I think the reason alot of people on here say it doesn't burn fat is so that all the new people looking for a shortcut won't jump on cycle to lose their big bellies and fat asses. I agree, without a doubt helps you lose body fat.

This. In a lot of cases (depending on how YOUR body works), you can still lose some fat on steroids while going well over maintenance, especially if the cals are mostly clean. Tell that to every joe on the street and you'll have every moron you know running steroids without a clue.

Its not like we're lying to noobs though. They won't experience fat burning benefits because they have no idea how to eat and train but someone with bodybuilding knowledge and an understanding of steroids can benefit.
 
depends on the individual.

I am not someone who loses mass on AAS.. i gain mass. doesn't matter what my diet is like. if someone is insulin sensitive and runs something that is very anabolic then the body is gonna want to hold onto mass during this time, not lose it. so for me I gain mass on cycle, and i cut off cycle. this has been my strategy for years. the longer i stay off the lower my body fat goes. the only AAS i have ever run that i haven't gained slobs of mass on was primo

You are correct, this is not entirely true. Since this is the internet, we use general terminology - and of course we stick by it; fat loss comes from your diet not steroids. However, the use of AAS has a myriad of benefits during a diet, from muscle sparing to increased protein synthesis to better endurance (not with all AAS of course), etc.
