True strength comes from within

People are asking me about supplements.

It's always problematic.

The gym isn't school. It isn't work. If you come with the pathetic martyrlike approach that schools encourage (e.g. I'll just show up and try), you will fail. and there is no magic pill.

Now whether I'm on or not, a think a fair amount of people assume I take a ton of steroids. Not that I'm huge, but well, most people are so lacking in discipline and can't even see how bad they are and I get these questions like "What kinds of supplements do you take? I've been working out for almost 6 months, et c."

It happens at the gym, on the street. It's not just the stares, but people actually come up to me and talk about supplements, and sometimes bring up their misconceptions of gear.

Anyone who knows my posts on here knows I'm not a high-dose, always-on guy. I place more emphasis on my training and diet and healthy lifestyle.

Well now I'm on and I feel a little guilty because I can't just say: "No, all you have to do is train right and live the right lifestyle with adequate nutrition and rest." Now, I can tell them that, but they still think I'm on gear, and dammit, they're actually right this time.

You can't just take steroids and expect to be cured of your weak, frail body. Steroids are not really healthy. And what happens when you come off your "supplements"? How are you going to maintain your size? You can gain 10, 20, even 30lbs of muscle without them. Just learn what to do and have the discipline to do it.

A 20year old stick boy ran up to me, smoking a cigarette, and asked me about what to take to get bigger. That was the last straw that prompted this ranting post.

I hear you bro. Sometimes, I feel better off than when I do when I am ON. Somedays, I think to myself, why do I use gear when i feel this great sober!! Then I think about how good I am starting to look after 2 cycles and now I can't wait to start my 3rd!! :) But, I hear you, takes a lot of discipline and training and hard work :)

The problem is everyone's looking for a shortcut. They want a good body, but they also want everything that contradicts it too (alcohol, cigarettes, fast food).

You have to make a lot of sacrifices to look good, which is why everyone isn't walking around jacked up and lean as hell.

No pain, no gain. And most people will go a long way to avoid the pain...
