Hi there !
Living in Germany,I will spend my vacations in Florida !
Will arrive in the first week in September in Tampa!
1. how was the weather last year at that time?(hurricane season)
2. will stay around Sarasota/Ft.Myers-any places over there I MUST visit ??:D
3. will a trip to Key West be a good idea at that time ?? Already been there several times-its only nice on the keys if the weather will be nice..:(
Thanx so much for helpful answers !!!
Greetz:)

It's reallt hit or miss when it comes to hurricanes. August and September are prime time for Atlantic based hurricanes so you may want to watch the weather pretty closely. We also haven't had a decent hurricane since Andrew so we're due for one. Not sure if you have already been to Busch Gardens or not but that's in Tampa. They have decent clubs in Ybor which is right down the road from Tampa if you wanna go out. Other than that, I'm not too sure what's down towards Sarasota. The Keys are always great to go to unless like you said and there's a storm.

Go to longboat key. The Dali museum in Tampa is supposed to be good. There's a nightlife area in Tampa, I forget what it is called.

In Sarasota there's the Ringling museum that is pretty cool. New College of the University of South Florida is right there, wander around and stare at the kids and check out the I.M. Pei architecture ( I used to live in one of those buildings).

Pretty much all the beaches are nice, you can't miss there.

Bring an umbrella, because it will rain on you.

They say that the keys are awesome, some beautiful sunsets. I want to go down there, maybe this December during Christmas break. If you go, try the kayaking down in the keys, a great way to see nature.

Adult Entertainment = MONS VENUS nightclub

YBOR has great bars, shops and CIGAR factories
Great beaches west of Sarasota (Clearwater bch, Sanibel Island, Captiva)

Busch Gardens is a great Theme Park (Roller Coasters, African Animals and Zoo stuff, big BEER Brewery with a tour and FREE samples)

Most of the Hurricanes hit the East coast except for those coming in from the South through the Gulf of Mexico. Again Hit or Miss

TAMPA is a pretty cool city but also kind of Old and laid back except for the YBOR area.

I´m very positive about the weather-there are many Thunderstorms at the moment and I followed the weather since May-never seen so much rain in Florida as this year..??!!
I know Orlando and Tampa-been there for 4-5 times already !
Worked out in Orlando at Betterbodies-a gym owned by a former American Gladiator(female)!
Was a small but nice Gym with everything I needed !
Met Big Jim Quinn in Golds Ft.Myers last November-still HUGE !!
Thanks so far-how about some nice Gyms to train at ??
Greetz:rolleyes:

Yes, Thunderstorms almost every afternoon are a regular thing but are fast moving and over in an hour or so.
This all day rain during the month of June, first of July is very unusual ref. above..
Normally it does not rain all day, but only in the afternoons.

As for Gyms ???
