What's up folks. I was wondering about the cost effectiveness of Oral vs. transdermal delivery of PHs so I did an analysis:
For prices I used Avantlabs products (which I think are the best) at bodybuilding.com (best prices I could find) and vitanet's prices on oral capsules. 200mg caps in all cases.
For transdermal apps I used Par Deus' estimate of 40% delivery. For oral I used 15% delivery.
I only analyzed 4-AD, Nordiol, and 1-AD/1-test.
4-AD:
Transdermal:
Product: 4ADerm 12g 4-AD @ $$43
$43/(12g*40%) = $8.96 per gram delivered
Oral: 60 caps 200 mg ea. = 12g $20
$20/(12g*15%)=$11.11/g delivered
The cost per gram delivered would be equal at a transdermal delivery fraction of 32.6%.
Nor-Diol:
Transdermal: Nor-ADerm 12g NorDiol @ $73
$73/(12g*40%)=$15.4/g delivered
Oral: 60 caps 200 mg each= 12g $43
$43/(12g*15%)=$23.89/g delivered
The cost per gram delivered would be equal at a transdermal delivery fraction of about 30%.
1-AD/1-test (this one is tricky since oral bioavailability may be higher than 15%--some estimate it as high as 30%)
Transdermal: One 3g 1-test $50
$50/(3g*40%)=$41/g delivered
Oral: 1-AD 60 caps, 100mg each = 6g $36
$36/(6g*15%)=$40/g delivered
Conclusions:
Oral 1-AD is definitely the way to go if 1-test is the hormone you want to use.
Transdermals get the edge in the raw analysis for 4-Ad and Nordiol. However since the bioavailability estimates for transdermal are just that, the data aren't definitive.
However for me transdermals are still the way to go because of the time-released nature and the need for fewer doses. Apparently they're better on sides too because severity of sides is determined by peak levels of PH in the blood (which are higher in oral admin. because it gets in your system faster).
So while the raw numbers aren't that reliable the last two points are what push the transdermals over the edge.
