The fact that these substances are available over the counter and can be used without the auspices of a physician, prove that they are obviously not what they claim to be but yet, are being promoted to the public as the real substances.
The 191 poly-peptide sequence hGH is physically impossible to get into a spray form. It is simply too large off a molecule and therefore has only been utilizable for medical use via injections. The oral secretagogues on the other hand have to overcome the degradation that takes place in the gastrointestinal systems. Some secretagogues may have some effectiveness. Their only known side effect relates to hyperinsulinemia secondary to the high dextrose content of most of these substances. However, their efficacy is limited and compliance is an issue due to ingestion of these substances on an empty stomach at least 4 hours after consumption of food.
The hGH injections, although effective over time, often take a few months before results can be seen. More importantly, the potential side effects as well as the route of administration via injections, decreases patient compliance considerably. Think of a room (analogous to a patient's body) in which you, the physician, are attempting to either increase or decrease the temperature.
