Totally forgot a meeting today

I got lucky though. I was returning from a particularly invigorating trip to the store when I ran into one of my superiors who asked, "Are you on your way to this meeting now?"
To which I rather astutely replied in as non-chalant and unsuspicious a manner as possible, "You had better believe it. Big time."
He never knew what was up. It was almost heroic only not really since nobody was rescued from harm's way. I avoided stepping on a bug on the way there though and almost tripped in the process so that was pretty brave I think overall.
