this sucks ever since i started gaining weight and strength ive had muscle problems--i was benching about 1 and a half months ago and felt a twinge in my chest that hurt real bad--now ive been lifting light for a month and a half but yesterday i said screw it and did heavy weight and bang i felt a huge sting and burning feeling in my chest and today i cant even pick up my arm! man you guys have anything that will speed up the process of healing or any exercises i can do that will help---by the way i started anabolics about a year and a half ago at 191lbs and now im 252 at 5'11" and i havent had any problems till i get over 235lbs--what do you guys do to get your muscles ready for the strength increase and weight gain so you dont get injured?

I had a slight tear in my right pec up near my armpit area about 1 and a half years ago. I used light dumbells for about 3 months then went back to straight bar and got my form down to where it didnt hurt, elbows in. Havent had any problems since.

It could be a tendon, muscles grow stronger than tendons. When you gain sixty pounds in a year and a half you have to be careful with heavy weights. Get it checked out bro.

What gear are you using now? Are you warming up real good before you start? If you cant pick your arm up after a heavy day bro your bodys telling you to stop period for a while your 252 lbs at 5'11 its not like you cant gain it back , take care of yourself before it sets you back for years.

Very true. You will have to just put the mental part aside and use light weights for a few months. Don't let it bother you. Do more reps. Dumbells are good and another thing to try while rehabing is to do bench press on the smith rack. That way your form is forced to be correct. I did the exact same thing about 8 years ago. I couldnt do anything for about 6 months. Stupidly I just did the same thing last week. I went too heavy and felt the tear/burn. Luckily it is not near as bad. Ice and ibuprofen and I feel better already. I should be able to lift by next week but I will use LIGHT weight.

Good luck
