Albert Owens: Age 26.
7-11 clerk shot in the back by Tookie Williams during a robbery, February 1979. Mr. Owens, father of two small children, was forced at gunpoint into a back storeroom, made to kneel on the floor, then Tookie shot him in the back at close range, execution style. Afterward, an accomplice-turned-informer said Williams boasted that he "blew some white guy away, shot him in the back"... all for $63.

So where were the Hollywood stars and candlelight vigils for those victims????

that first dude was wearing socks with flip flops... not enough to get killed over though.

I wonder if Tookie is going to C-walk to the chair.

<.flight attendant wave> Ba Bye Tookie... hope you enjoyed your stay <./flight attendant wave>

They should have executed him much sooner. California tax dollars paid for that peice of shit to live in prison for 26 years.

I don't agree with the death penalty by principle, but I don't think his books and what not get him out of the punishment for his crime.

should he have been able to spend the rest of his life in prison, it would have set a precedence for other convicts....write a book about "how not to follow my path in life"

Yes he may have thwarted kids into joining gangs, but he did what he did, killed 4 people...

He was a big dude back in the day!!! Honestly I could care less either way. Sometimes I think life in prison is worse than the death penality anyway. I'm glad the story will go away now.

He was scum. I don't really care that he wrote books later in his life. He was convicted of killing 4 people, but he was responsible for destroying the lives of many.

I wonder how many stars would have stood up for him if he had killed someone famous?

yeah I agree that the death penalty would be easier then 26 yrs in prison. HOWEVER, I hate the fact that tax payers had to support this piece of shit for the past quarter of a century.

I feel that if you are convicted of murder on at least 2 seperate accounts, or if at least two eye witnesses see commit a murder, then you should be automatically put to death within 48 hours of the conviction.

Then you take whatever the equivalent would be in $$ for supporting that person for a life sentence in prison and put it back into our communities. Granted, that doesn't save any of of tax payers money, but maybe it makes a better future for our kids.

I think it sends a much more intense message if they kill someone instantly after being convicted than waiting 3 decades. It would deter much more crime because the justice is instant and final, not 20 years of appeals.

Agreed. This is why I would make a lousy cop, because I would have taken fucks like this to "alley court" LONG before I would have put them in a squad car, or given them any kind of humane treatment. You get what you give, I say.

And don't forget rape or child molestation.

I say the Judge oughtta have shotgun, and the Bailiff, a mop and a bucket.

Next.

I think a lot of the reason for his support is that a lot of people think hes a victim of racism which is complete bullshit. I can't believe that people such as Jamie Foxx call him up and try to be friends with him. The guy was an evil person. Do you think Scott Peterson will get this much support when they put him to death? I seriously doubt it.
