If you did not see it the first time it aired...don't miss A Portrait of Heroism.

Great documentary.....

I'm kind of sick of the 9.11 shit. Why all the fuss? What about New Orleans? It affected more people and is STILL affecting them today.

the 9/11 victims got paid out huge, just for losing a loved one. We have people in New Orleans that STILL have no homes, no lives. People coming home to their busted ass homes to find their dead relatives still in there.

Its a shame we are still so wrapped up in 9/11, willing to go to war over that, but willing to let people in New Orleans live in squalor.

Did you see it the first time?

It's two brothers who were in NYC filming a documentary. It's one of the greatest documentary films ever made. They were inside the towers with their camera when it collapsed. They caught the first plane flying directly over their heads and into the tower. They were with the first fire rescue on scene.

Guys who died literally were talking into the camera as they were on their way up the stairs to rescue people.

As for New Orleans, I agree. My Dad's unit in Afghanistan would be better serving the engineering needs of those in the Gulf Coast.

I'm a heroine addict. I need to have sex with women who have saved someone's life.

dude, football's on

It's too bad more people did not see this documentary. The footage from inside as the building collapses compares to nothing else. The people hitting the pavement as they jumped from 100 floors up leaves a sound you will never forget.

That's the stuff of nightmares.

Hurricanes provide for unsuitable enemies to fight against.

you know you are gonna get some love for this, don't you?

911 was a terrorist act against the financial center of America. Katrina was an "act of god" against an average city. Something that everyone knew would happen. Hope it helps.

Im truly amazed at how the tsunami of 04 has faded into history never to be heard of....it was the single most life costing natural disaster in human history. The families of 911 should get paid off....The government just stood there and LET it happen, and thats me being generous saying that they weren't involved, which they prob were. Now we have no freedom of privacy thanks to the Patriot act, a convenient side effect of the supposed Terrorist actions of 911.

Wrong
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaanxi_Earthquake

830 000 killed..... yeah it killed people, but far away and didnt have the same impact as 911 on our economy.

Even worse: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1887_Yellow_River_flood

900 000 to 6 000 000....

I agree.........this is the American way. They money spent on the space program and unproductive wars could fix up new orleans 2 x over.
Both 9/11 and the hurricae was devastating, but let's face it, one group was a white collar biz group and the other poor folks...!

Why fix NO if this thing could happen again ? Why live somewhere at risk ? Reminds me of all those idiots who live on the North Shore right on the Milles-Iles river. Every spring the area is flooded and every spring they cry like babies.

New Orleans could have been saved if the government had fixed the levies five years earlier as they were supposed to.

There is insurance money already available to cover the costs of fixing hurricane damage. All Congress has to do is force the insurance industry to pay up.

I've been in Bay St Louis and Waveland. Those people bust ass every day and all they really need is labor. The asstools in New Orleans like Ray Nagin need to stop pointing fingers and actually organize reconstruction. He still has no written plan. Nagin claims his plan is in his head.

The best reconstruction plans in New Orleans came from private groups who formed because they were disgusted with the way Nagin's office was farting around.

Poor China....They have been getting the shit end of the stick for a long time.....The 1st disater you posted up I am inclined not to believe the numbers...we are talking a time when people thought that Dragons destroyed cities and that leeches got rid of sicknesses. 1887 is a bit closer but again...people thought the moon was made of cheese, and that god made the clouds in the sky....so....Let me rephrase....Most life costing disaster in MODERN history....Butr yeah if those numbers are right on the Chinese disasters than holy shit!
