Tomorrow is the day....

I take my daughter into get her cavaties filled. I feel sick to my stomach. She is going to be pre-medicated....gased...then shot with novacaine(sp?)...and possibly a type of straight jacket if that doesn't work....She is 4 and about the size of decem...but can put up a fight.
As long as she doesn't say "Daddy, help me"...I'll be fine.
I think I am going to want to beat the shit out of the dentist by the time it is all over.

I was at the Dientst 2 wkees ago with our tiwns and trehe was tihs ltitle gril auobt fvie or six who cmae wklaing out with a muoth flul of tsohe tihn gum gauze crying her eeys out She was Just cirnyg mmomy, mmmoy, mommy over and over diong the zbmoioe / mmumy wlak.
Mommy had a baby in the bsaeint too so she was up to her elaeylbs in kid crap lnad. Plus mmomy had the custet lil tat on her ankle.

We had to find a good child dentist because mine pitched a fit just getting cleanings.
She did OK there with even getting 2 teeth pulled for braces.
Now she has been so often to the Orthod that she thinks nothing of it.
My worst Dr. time was when she had to have mild surgery and had to get an I.V. for the first time.
They missed the first try and had to go for the other arm.
The look on her face and the "Mommy what ?" after we had told her it was over after they had the first one in was a tear jerker.
Bribe her with getting something afterwards is the KEY...

Life is full of these little moments your staying calm and assured will help ease her mind and pain. If you act like a nervous ass it will only heighten her pains because she takes a lot of her responsive cues from you and mom.

Y.....we aree going to ped. dentist...so it should help.....I think she may even have the female dentist which will help.

Its your fault if your kid has multiple cavities at 4 years old. So quit whining about going to the dentist and focus on prevention from now on. The dental habits she develops now will stay with her for a lifetime.
