To do what it really takes

Ok..so I am a decent sized guy and people tend to email me questions about training, diet, and even gear. I never mind answering their questions to the best of my ability...but why can they not just take what I say and go with it.

I have a friend who has been wanting me to help him with a training routine for a while. I finally sit down for about 3 hours and get it all typed up for him, sit with him through all 10 hours of the West Side videos...and he is all fired up about it. After one workout, he is not for sure if it will make him stronger. I say "hey, when was the last time you gained a pound or made ANY increase in you max lifts." Point made!!!

I get another email from a guy asking me what the smallest needle he can use would be. This kills me. He is a powerlifter and wants to squat 900lbs. He can't take the pain of a 22-23 g needle though "too much pain". What!!!!! Does he think that if he can not take the pain of a 22g needle that he can take the pain of a 900 lb squat? No freaking way!!!! I tell him to never go larger than a 23 (just being mean at this point) even though he could probably go with a 25, and must have a 1 1/2" pin. He freaks....1 1/2!!!!!! What the heck!!! I'd put an 18g in my tounge if if thought that it would get me closer to my dream!!!

Having a dream and wanting it bad enough to do whatever it takes...maybe that is what he needs to realize. I understand that my dream must take a backseat to school and work right now, but it is still my dream and I will find time to work towards it. If you REALLY want something...you WILL find a way.

Sorry for the rant...and hope you enjoy the 23 g 1 1/2" pic

Well I too get asked for training help all the time. And in the beginning I would try to help everyone. But then I realized that it wasn't worth it. Don't get me wrong I help all the people that I can. Spends lots of MY free time making training programs for people...and I enjoy it. But someone that you have to CONVINCE isn't worth it. If they beleive enough in you to ask you for advice...then why should they question what you suggest. Why help someone that is going to have to be convinced when there are others that want help and are willing to listen. I never ask someone to do exactly what I say...but they have to believe in the system. Each individual is diiferent and has different requirements from their program. That is why I encourage people to ask questions...and suggest their own ideas. The best way to learn something is to try to teach it to someone else. But someone that doesn't believe...and isn't willing to listen or do the work...is not a wise investment of time.

been there done that...now I just really fuck with peoples heads.

get this all the time too.....I try to help as much as possible, but some people are just BEYOND help....LOL

i dont.

i tired but people got annoyed with me when i said the things they were doing could be counterproductive. now i keep my workout reigime to myself.

hey B true...could you send about a 100 of those to my house...Thanx.

True B Fold but quote you:

"I get another email from a guy asking me what the smallest needle he can use would be. This kills me. He is a powerlifter and wants to squat 900lbs. He can't take the pain of a 22-23 g needle though "too much pain". "

The point is: there is an option. You really do not need anything bigger then a 25 g for oil injections. So whatever it takes can be taken with a 25 g.
