I might be moving to virginia for a new job. I just have a few basic questions for all of you. Let me know who's from there.

Sound familiar.

Alexandria, Fairfax county. Half the time I'm out at Dulles Airport. Get ready for sitting in a lot of traffic.
And by the way anyone can get a concealed weapons permit in VA. That way you can shoot it out with all the crazy drivers on the road. It's a frequent thing.

i'll be located in fairfax. How do you like it over there? Also how are the prices of property taxes and car insurance? I might have some more questions. All the info would help me out alot. It'll be my first time moving out of jersey.

i'm one of the few NoVA natives. The cost of living is pretty high here, but not like NYC/San Fran. Overall, I guess I like it, as I have lived here all my life and had the opportunity to relocate many times but have declined. There's a LOT to do here, and being next to DC it's kinda cool as it's kinda the 'power seat' of the planet. Anyway, plenty to do, plenty of girls around, lots of outdoor and indoor activities, lots of museums, the 'mountains' and the ocean are an easy drive away. The negatives are the traffic can suck (be VERY strategic about where you live related to where you work), the cost of living, and we are at 'ground zero'...

Will you be living in Fairfax County or Fairfax City? If you're in Fairfax County you will be paying the highest property taxes in the state-Fairfax City, highest property taxes in the state PLUS City taxes. Insurance rates high-like everywhere I think- based on age, traffic record, vehicle etc. You will pay a VA personal property tax of 2.14% on the value of your vehicle once registered in the state-annually.I work around the Tysons Corner area-traffic is a bitchnearly all the time with 100,00 new employment positions opening up within the next year, but no new roads. There are up sides, though. Access to everything you could want and more.High salaries-good employment opportunities.

Get a Gun

And lots of ammo. And join the NRA(National Riot Association). HQ'd at 50 and 66.

i'd be in fairfax county. From reading what everyone is saying sounds like virginia is alot like jersey. Lots of traffic, have a great city 15 minutes away, lots of jobs, high taxes.

Im in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area.I've been up to NOVA many times.I would move somewhere like the Vienna area & use the Metro train. Also definatly use it whenever you go out that is the only way to go.You do not wanna drink & drive cause the cops up there are really bored & theres alot of them.

why not? There is so much to do in Jersey. I'm going down to Virginia this Friday for my second interview and Im going to check it out, see if I like it.

which gymn did/do you workout at? and the cops in VA suck ASS, they are DUI/revenue crazy there....and the speed limit sucks! N Va is nice to look at, but a lot of people are moving out because of the job/wage Bshit!

Well I just got back from virginia and I got the job if I want it. NoVa is pretty nice, I was in the fairfax area. Fairfax county is REAL NICE. Then I drove around the area, went to woodbridge, well that was a dump, then I went to dale city and that wasn't too bad. Overall its pretty similar to Jersey. Taxes are high, plenty of traffic, nice areas and shitty areas. The thing i noticed that is different are the people are nicer, and no ones in a big hurry like up here in Jersey.
Ill be working in fairfax county. I'll be personal trainer at lifetime fitness. Its a real nice gym but Im not sure if im going to take the job because its full commission. What do you guys think, do personal trainers make that much money
