At least the US Army Corps of Engineers built some solid levees this time. I watched an interview with the oic and he admitted budget issues were partially responsible for the shabby levees pre Katrina. I think the lesson is you can't trust big government to protect you or even local government in Louisiana...at least your governor seems to be a competent administrator but how the fuck do you re-elect someone as mayor that was a miserable failure...you blame Bush.
