This is the reason why I think the Karma system will work.

Okay, I've gone through and read alot of posts about why people think the Karma System will work and why it will not work. I think that in the end it will work and this is why:

The Karma system is not means of censorship or control, it's a form of balance. By balance I mean that things will eventually right themselves. If anything you now have more of a voice in what actually happens on this board then before. Like in a democratic society you have the power to now basically vote and express your opinions like never before. If you think that a person is posting garbage then you now have the power to let that person know in more ways then just getting on and flaming them.

Here is a good example of why the Karma system will work:

Lets take for example poncho1

for starters you just blabered youre biz all over the place, now since im going to be taking this site over soon I want you out!!!! shut youre trapper and you more than likely ordered and watched the the whole deal on youre own pc so theres you fuck up when the dea comes to you crib and slits youre ass and you turn snitch cause you dont want to shrink , I f my dog spike saw you ill bet hed eat you and he weights 18 pounds ( but hes hard as a rock) bow and beg and maybe some one will care looser!

These are some of his more recent posts that he has made. Do these posts look like they have any useful information what so ever? If you notice his little Karma button, it's now grey. Apparently people disagree with what he is saying or don't feel that it belongs on the board. If he continues on this path, more and more people will eventually give him bad karma and he will be gone.

So those of you that think that this is censorship, it's far from it. It's a way of making your voice heard and actually being able to something about it. One drop in the bucket might not be much, but eventually those drops will add up.

Always remember, nobody forced you to come here and nobody makes you pay anything. This site is free and so is the information on here. This is site belongs to someone and that owner is the final arbritrator of what happens with this site.

I agree in theory it is really cool, but at the same time some people will throw out bad karma just because they don't agree with what someone says. And if you're not someone that has all the AS knowledge, then you're not really recieving alot of good karma. The bad stuff will add up, and all because they don't agree with what you say.

My point is that some people will use the bad karma in the wrong way, and that's shitty. I know because its already happened to me.

My point is that some people will use the bad karma in the wrong way, and that's shitty. I know because its already happened to me.

Thats a good point too Pikey, there will likely always be someone who has it in for us, but at the same time if we are getting karma from those that like our contributions, they will most surely outweight the few bad apples that have it in for us.

I believe that this board must stay up and weed through some tough newcomers being crazy because for every post there is roughly 20 - 100 or more youth or adults or whatever looking and may need some serious input before indulging. I know from personal experience that I have learned a ton from this board and I have been doing this game for 18 years now......I have survived two damn cancer surgeries and still I must grow and re grow some more.....There is always going to a newbie and a new product or concept to discuss and ponder. If you believe that somewhere along the line you were given proper info from a vet or mod or elder statesmen then it is almost your obligation to occasionally drop some serious wisdom on someone who is walking thru the same door that you walked thru whenever that was. Imagine if you acted unwisely on every impulse that you have had regarding training or AS or other products without consulting somebody....two heads are always better than one....the karma thing is higher end tool that is not perfect but can definitely with time produce a higher grade of discussion and maybe just maybe save someone's LIFE or motivate someone into the great arena we know to be Bodybuilding and Life fitness.
