WASHINGTON -- Each time a member of Osama bin Laden's al-Qaida terror network is killed, an "X" is marked on a presidential scorecard.
Incorporating his love for baseball with the war on terrorism, President Bush ordered his aides to produce a photo "scorecard."
Bush told The Washington Post, "I'm a baseball fan. I want a scorecard." He said he wanted to have a sense of the people against whom America is fighting.
The president points to an "X" across the face of bin Laden's military chief Muhammad Atef, who helped plan the Sept. 11 terror attacks.
Atef is known to have been killed during the U.S. bombing of Afghanistan in November.
The Post said the chart also shows what's left to accomplish, noting that 16 of the top 22 al-Qaida leaders -- including bin Laden -- remain at large.
The State Department has also been asked to develop a catalogue detailing every country's contribution in the war against terror.

He told ABC's "This Week" that he has no doubts the porous border between the two nations has been used for al-Qaida and Taliban to move into Iran and find refuge.
Rumsfeld said Iran should have done what Pakistan did -- which is to put troops along the border to prevent terrorists from escaping from Afghanistan.
The defense chief also said Iran has been arming various Afghan factions -- leading to instability inside Afghanistan.
President Bush signaled in his State of the Union that Washington is closely watching Iran -- which Bush labeled as part of an "axis of evil."
