They caught a big one!

Is that a catfish?? Damn.

A friend of mine used to be a commercial spearfisherman. A couple years ago he shot a 300 lb grouper that was about 1 foot bigger than him. (No it wasn't a Goliath Grouper either... they are protected.)

I guess at that size (and age) the meat is not that great so he sold it to some company that processes it into whatever.

Pretty impressive pic tho.

It's actually a sturgeon. We catch a lot of them out of the Columbia River here in the Northwest. That is a good size fish, but not out of the ordinary. That one would be considered a shaker here and have to let them go. Been awhile, but if the regs.have not changed anything under three feet and anything over five has to be let loose.

This is enough fish to feed an army!
Most popular fish in Russia by the way :) And yes its big but there are some others that MUCH bigger than that :) Beluga, white sturgeon is bigger than the fish on the picture.

Damn! That's a big ass fish. That's why I don't swim in lakes. If I saw something like that, I'd shit my pants.

By ex brother-in-law caught a 16 footer in the Columbia River about 8 years ago. Freaking thing was as long as their boat. He hooked onto one that took off so hard and fast, his reel literally came apart. They say alot of those fish are like 400 years old or something like that.
