between good music and bad music.

bad music is winning. :bawling:

Music Sucks!

Lesbian Fuck Fest memory implant chips rule!

seriously, there is no decent music out lately.

i blame tool for setting my standards way too high; other bands just cant cut it.

hands down, chevelle is the best band ever

I can't agree with that.. but definately top 10 IMO.

Metallica, tool, and NIN are also in that top 10. (overall metallica.. especially old school, not necessarily newer stuff)

I don't know why everyone says that about Metallica. I love their newer stuff. Some of it has a lot more depth musically; it's just not as loud and fast. Check out "Bleeding Me" or "Outlaw Torn" on Load. Awesome songs.

Don't get me wrong.. I still love Load and Reload.. but just not the same as I do the older stuff...

Unforgiven 2 is also a great one off of reload.

Aswell as their single for the M:I2 soundtrack (crappy movie, good soundtrack) - I Dissapear

chevelle has a *few* good songs.

however, they are another band that sings about being social outcasts, being depressed, etc. there are really no other message being conveyed in their music.

i wouldnt even put them anywhere near the top 50 bands.

I like every song on Godsmacks new album. They are one of those rare bands as of late that actually play more than three chords during their songs. All these new "rock bands" sound like some pussified alternative music.

start naming some bands, homey.

Of course we all do have different taste and if you're into Metal music for example then there's no reason for me to say Steely Dan's new album will be in the record stores soon.

If you listen all kind of music then you should find enough good music for one person.

Has anyone heard the new White Stripes album (Elephant)? "Seven Nation Army" is a great song. Other than that, I've not heard it, but I have heard that it's good.

i listen to many different genres of music.

just name some bands, and i will check them out.

Do you have any Steely Dan? If not then start from that band and you probably won't need any other bands after that trip. Buy some older stuff (Countdown to ecstasy, Pretzel Logic, Aja, Gaucho) before the new album comes out.

Problem nowdays is that there are good songs but not good albums. Now every album has 12-15 songs so half of them are usually quite bad.

Pantara?...

How about Smile Empty Soul (its a local austin band)?

Coldplay
In Flames
Poison the Well
Counting Crows
Black Label Society
Stone Sour
Weezer
The Used
Sugarcult
Unloco

Those are some of my better's in my playlist right now.. all rock, but diff genre's of rock. (soft, to death)

Pop music seems to always fall into a 10 or so year rut of me-too-ism. Right now you are living in a post Nirvana wasteland. Some bright soul will hopefully dredge a new sound from the underground and find a way to market it for a mass audience.
