I know they got a video playing on Mtv, I was wondering if anyone knows they are alive yet...

You serious????? I honestly don't think I remember the last time I saw a video on MTV!!! Or VH1..............
Half the time it's stupid shows, and about 40% is commercials......so that's about 10% videos that I never seem to catch...........

I'd start on "the internet" and move on from there to the "real world"

the latter of the two sounds like too much work.

allmusic.com might have reference to them - and morpheus and all that would likely have them since I know I could get them using limewire and those back in the day.
