The Shield

I bet you the guy in the ending was glad he had an electric stove not a gas one! Nice flesh hanging off his face, brutal but most deserved.

Yeah, when Mackey lifted the guy's face from the stove, and the skin was stretching since it was stuck to the burner.... ughh.

I hope this is indicative of what we can expect from the rest of the season! :)

The "spooky" thing about the mexican getting his faced burnt (and teeth knocked out) was his sadistic smile/nervous laughter as he was cowering in the corner. Mackey should have offed him then and there, because you know that guy will turn into the reoccurring nightmare for the precinct.

One thing that caught me off guard was when they burned Theo with the tire (or rather found the remains). I actually felt sorry for the guy - but then you realize he was a drug dealer just like all the rest.

The show definately makes you think about your morality and the police.

I hear ya about Teo(theo). That was kinda sad. That stove scene was pretty nuts, but I like it the most when he was beatin him with that encyclopedia. Remember when he was beatin that child abductor in the first season"good cop and bad cop left for the day, I'm a different kind of cop".

Kinda makes ya wonder who's gonna fuck him. Will it be his wife? The black lady(I forget her name), or that mexican peice of shit(the gang member, not his boss).

Best show ever!

I agree that this is probably the best show of all time. I have one problem with the ending though. If this guy is a big dealer, he would have have some major reinforcing on that door or a posse with him at all times. It seems highly unlikely that he's chilling in his living room every night like you or I.

in haiti, this is referred to as "the necklace". They do it all the time to people there, in public. sounds like a real fun place.

definitely my favorite show....the ending was brutal!...especially when you saw the flesh "dripping" off of his face.

I was hoping Vic was going to kill that piece of shit drug lord wannabe/rapist. But it's gonna be cool to see him in a future episode with the burn marks on his face. I still can't believe that the Captain is covering up for him now and CCH Pounder's character is now giving Vic something to worry about. I also like the fact that his wife is going to give him some serious trouble. The show is getting really good. I gotta feeling Vic will find a real clever way to beat it though.

IMO, this show is way better than the HBO stuff like The Sopranos or Oz.

Anyone know if the first-season episodes are available to rent at Blockbuster or anywhere?

The first season just came out on DVD...so I would imagine that they're available at blockbuster.
