I don't understand how anyone who is a parent, particularly of young children, and actually cares about their children's welfare can have that attitude. Our primary task as parents is to do everything within our power to give our children critical life skills they will use long after we're gone, and to leave them a planet that can sustain those lives.

The only thing you can control is yourself and your immediate environment. But every minute you are around your children you are shaping how they will perceive the world and their place in it, and that will be engraved into their psyches for the rest of their lives. The example you set, in how you live, your attitude and ethics, just day to day stuff and how you go about it and so forth, will imprint on them more deeply than every day ever spent in school.
