So what is the deal. Is it better to drink than water? I noticed some brands have some sugars in them, so I am asking about pure green tea, although I hear it can be pretty rough tasting. What are the benefits in simple terms.

Epigallocatechin Gallate

EGCG...

If you buy Vitamin Shoppe they have it listed, each cap contains 75mg plus its fairly cheap too.

Yep, In addition to anti-ox properties should raise metabolism although impossible to tell what ECGC amount would be found in tea..

Pill Extract would be best, although tea works (some find it good too..not me hehe)

I just bougth like 50g of green tea extract from BAC...it's standardized to 50% ECGC. Cheap too, like $7-8.

Currently i'm drinking about 3 cups of green tea a day ( not necessarily as a fat-burning supplement) but because i like it. How many cups a day would u say would make an actual difference in fat loss if any?

Who makes the Tea?

I've read as high as 200mg of EGCG per cup (WAYYYYYYY WAYYYY TOO HIGH)

Studies used 90mg EGCG + Caff 3x per day

1 CUP IMHO = 50mg EGCG or so depending on brand...

"Obesity/Weight Control: Recent studies on green tea's thermogenic properties have demonstrated a synergistic interaction between caffeine and catechin polyphenols that appears to prolong sympathetic stimulation of thermogenesis. A human study of green tea extract containing 90 mg EGCG taken three times daily concluded that men taking the extract burned 266 more calories per day than did those in the placebo group and that green tea extract's thermogenic effects may play a role in controlling obesity.23 Green tea polyphenols have also beeen shown to markedly inhibit digestive lipases in vitro, resulting in decreased lipolysis of triglycerides, which may translate to reduced fat digestion in humans.10,11"

So that means taking +/- 270 mg EGCG would do the trick.:jarswim:
