This was a dissapointing election in terms of results from my standpoint, but you gotta love democracy.

Congratulations to the victors.

Looking on the bright side, Nancy Pelosi is a hell of a lot easier on the eyes than Dennis Hastert.

For those of us who voted to throw the bums out, yesterday and today were sweet.

But it's all downhill from here, when the new people take office and dissappoint us, and we're reminded once again that the donkeys are really just about as bad as the elephants.

I just hope this is twilight for the PNAC.
 
Longhorn is a good man. It says alot about his influence on this board to single him out after these elections, which have proven the whiny wheel gets the vote.

Payback is a bitch, but over and above that, it's neccessary to set a precedent for future administrations that you cant run roughshod over the truth and the separation of powers, politicize Intelligence and science, lie us into war, hide your no-bid buddy rewards under noble language, disappear billions (under bremmer's CPA) and get away with it.

I like Longhorn, even though we seldom agree. But he's been so cocksure and smug about the anticipated GOP victory in November, that it's hard to resist a few friendly elbows to the kidney now that the results are in and they're not what he expected so confidently.

Let the elbows fly, I can take it. I'll admit I am very surprised by the election results. It is amazing and impressive how the American electorate can rise up and send a clear message like this.

Bush's mandate now for the next two years is to not really take any significant steps without full consultation of Congress. In that regard he has already messed up by rushing to nominate Rumsfeld's replacement before conferring with the leaders of the House and Senate.

It will be much more fun to stay here and see how Bush and the dems work things out. Also what happens over the next two years will help determine who wins the WH next.
