Matt Bryant appeared to have won the game with a 30-yard field goal with 11 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. But Bryant's kickoff went out-of-bounds, giving Dallas the ball at its own 40-yard line.

Fassel had enough time left on the play clock to run the game clock down to 3 seconds. Had he done that, even if Bryant still kicks the ball out of bounds, there's not enough time to complete a 26 yd pass in 3 seconds.

What's up with that?

Yeah, that was a pretty stupid mistake. Had the game sewed up.

Made for exciting viewing though -- I don't have stock in either team...

The giants coach ran that weak "position the ball play" and then let like the full 25 seconds run off the clock before using his time out before the field goal. (Basically wasting at least 30+ seconds and plus the final 11 remaining) He should have spiked the ball or called a time out and took a shot at the end zone. They were only at like the 12 or 13 yard line. He had enough time for one or two throws to the end zone....

Only a pu$$y pulls up early, without taking a shot at the TD and tries to win a games with a field goal IMO, unless there is no other way (IE, last play of the game)

I like the giants as a team and was rooting for them, but they got what they deserve....

The giants IMO should have run the clock down much further than 14 seconds. If they would have ran the clock down to even 5 seconds there was no way the boys could have scored. The kickoff wasnt that terrible of a kick. had the kick gone another yard it would have been in the endzone and a touchback. Also one cannot estimate the factor the rain played in the ball bouncing or traveling on the kickoff. Either way i think the blame should fall on the coach in this situation , Poor time management.

ummm, first of, your $hit could just as easily get blocked and run back for a TD...

second, if you have so much confidence in your team that you doubt they can't try to score from the 12 yard line without fumbling or throwing a pic, well I definitley would not want to be coached by you....

and third, that dumbass still got it only a few feet from the upright, he could have easily missed it. I like how the ball is in the middle of the field at the 12 yardline and he can't even bury it right down the middle....

that is okay dude, you got no sack.... funny, that is the same reason he lost the game.... winners put their $hit on the line...

i think that was in case there was a bad snap the holder could fall on the ball and call a time out. that's why they left time on the clock.

Personally, i'm not a Giants fan, so I don't care. If you're saying that teams should always go for touchdowns with seconds left on the clock when a chip shot field goal wins the game, you have re-invented the way football is played.

If only you were around when Abner Doubleday invented the field goal, we could have saved ourselves from all these problems.
