The Best War Essay Ever

The weapons of mass destruction and the man behind them

“Osama bin Laden has come to resemble Lord Voldemort of the Harry Potter books: an evil but invisible force so fearsome that none dare mention him directly” states Gerald F. Seib of the Wall Street Journal. His name is now spoken in fear. When his name is spoken, heads turn. Is it unthinkable that this is exactly what he has been looking to instill in the hearts of America? Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein, whether or not they are working in conjunction together, are currently two of the greatest threats to the freedoms we have enjoyed (or taken for granted) for so many decades.
On January 16th 2003, the United Nations weapons inspectors found 11 empty chemical warheads among other warheads that are yet to be tested to determine what their use was to be. “The 122 millimeter warheads were in excellent condition and were similar to ones imported by Iraq during the late 1980s, according to Hiro Ueki, spokesman for the U.N. (U.S. Department of State International Informational Systems Online)” The weapons and resources possessed by these two leaders are capable of causing the death of thousands of American lives. This was made apparent with the World Trade Center tragedy that occurred on September 11th, when over 3000 Americans lost their lives.
As horrible as Osama bin Laden’s WTC bombing in New York, one must also remember that there are over 100,000 U.S. soldiers that are suffering from the effects of the Gulf War syndrome following their efforts in Operation Dessert Storm. The symptoms include loss of muscle control, memory problems, migraines, dizziness and chronic fatigue. The cause of the disease is still unknown. We have seen what Osama is capable of, and that Saddam is more than willing to use his NBC weapons on not only American soldiers, but also the civilians of his own country!
Now that we have seen what these men are capable of, actions must be taken to prevent the possibility of this things ever happen again. Oliver Teves, Associated Press Writer for YAHOO! News, reported on February 18th, “A former Iraqi nuclear scientist said Tuesday that he believes Saddam Hussein’s nuclear program has been dismantled but that he still has chemical and biological weapons. He went on to state that according to Hussain al-Shahristani, another former Iraqi nuclear weapons specialist, it would be quite easy for Saddam to create biological and chemical weapons. By utilizing his mobile laboratories throughout Iraq, he would be able dodge the advancing U.N. weapons inspectors. He went on to say that there are underground bunkers and tunnels containing large amounts of biological and chemical weapons.
Since we know that Saddam and Osama are both a threat to the safety of millions of people and multiple countries throughout the world, it is crucial that measures be taken to ensure international security. We are well aware of the acts of terror that Osama bin Laden is capable of. We also have proof that Saddam has illegal possession of biological and chemical weapons in Iraq. Now, if through a mutual agreement between these two men, Osama is provided weapons of mass destruction by Saddam, the results could be catastrophic. The amount of terrorists and sympathizers currently in the U.S., which is unknown, in addition to the ease of border crossings through Canada, it would not be difficult for the followers of Osama to strike many American cities, any time any place.
Despite the evidence supporting military action, websites such as CAREUSA.org believe that the people of Iraq have already suffered far to much from the last time the United States entered Iraq. They go on to write that the U.N. Security Counsel’s “Oil for Food” program has allowed $2 billion in oil would be paid back with two-thirds value of food for the Iraqi people every 180 days. That equates to 21-25 days of food for every family in the entire country. When considering that Saddam has used biological and chemical weapons against his own people and that U.N. countries are the only ones to be providing for the daily basic needs of the Iraqi people, why should this man be allowed to continue to be in power?
I conclude with a plea. A plea to the people of the world: Support President Bush, support our brave soldiers who are willing to die for you. Support a form of action that will provide our children and our children’s children to have the freedom that we have seen for so long. Can we allow men with the power and weapons that they possess to continue their reigns of terror? If you love Osama and Saddam more than your freedom and life, move to Iraq.

LOL....sorry but this essay struck me as moronic.... not well spaced either, irritating to read...

Also, are you sure that it was saddam responsible for GW Syndrome, or was it our use of depleted uranium shells, dumping our radioactive waste in Iraq?

(to be fair, saddams chem-weapons should not be ruled out either)

We also have proof that Saddam has illegal possession of biological and chemical weapons in Iraq.

How about presenting that proof? The whole world will start to support that war.
Or is it just another 12 year-old student´s report?

Saddam has the burden of proof.
