What do you think is or was the best video Game Console? To me, it would have to be Super Nintendo.

FYI I only included the systems that ROCKED! None of those loser Atari systems.

I'm gonna say super nes. It had so many great games that were great just because of game play. I think I'd still wanna play them 10 years from now. I'm not sure how much I'd feel that way about x-box or PS2.

NES and SNES cause then came home PCs with powerful video cards, making console a bit obsolete...

im torn between the genesis, the snes, and the dreamcast.

if you counted the gba sp as a console then i would choose that. it has pretty much all of the best games from the snes and nes era plus a plethora of excellent more recent games. its also portable, only 99bucks, and the battery lasts forever.

I'm loyal to the nintendo, and then the play stations.

The game cube bites, I like the xbox, but those damn controllers are too freakin' huge. PC are in a whole differnet league, not better or worse, just different.

I'm with nav and chewy on this one.

Even though the graphics/sound on atari were lame by todays standards, or even a decade's ago standards... all the games were original and different and fun to play.

Nowadays, games for the most part have lost that originality. First person shooters, 2-D fighting games, ...yawn.

I grew up with Super Nintendo so it is the best, followed closely by PSX, then N64 and PS2.

Man, there are a lot of good systems missing from the list. I still have my NES and every so often I will pull it out. I still remember where every heart container is on both quests of Legend of Zelda and can beat them both in a could of hours without dying. I remeber the pattern to beat Super Mario Bros. when you get to the repeating part of the castle. And I could go on and on.

I agree the SNES had better games and I love that console too, but the amount of enjoyment that I got from the old NES back in the day is immeasureable.

Does anyone even remember something called the Vectrix or something like that? It was a little home arcade console with a built in screen? It was black and white and to get color, you had to use the plastic over-lays? It was pretty cool too.

Yes, I had a Vectrex. I really liked it a lot. Star Trek was my favorite game for it. It had Vector Line grapics so in a way it gave you better graphics the the other systems at the time. For those who don't know what I am talking about think the original Star Wars Arcade game.

Cool, someone else remembers this. I thought this rocked, but then the controls broke and my dad sold it at a garage sale. Man, I wish I still had it, I bet I could fix that controler now.

My controller broke too. It still technically woked but the joystick wouldn't snap back into place like it was supposed too. Since it was off the market by that point I couldn't get a replacement. I ended up trading it for a bike. I already had nintendo and wasn't playing then it but I kinda miss it today. It was mad cool.
